Ford Freestyle

Initially called the Ford CrossTrainer, the Ford Freestyle was renamed as part of Ford's strategy of naming all of its cars with the letter ‘F’. It shared the Ford D3 platform with the Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego.

HP increase on electric supercharger on motorcycle?

Installing an electric supercharger on a motorcycle can significantly increase horsepower by forcing more air into the engine, allowing for more fuel combustion. This boost in air intake enhances engine efficiency and performance, particularly at higher RPMs. However, the overall effectiveness depends on the engine's design and tuning to handle the increased power. Additionally, proper integration is crucial to avoid issues with reliability and longevity.

Oil change reset light on a 2006 ford freestyle?

I own a 2007 freestyle, very simple when you are holding the reset you will first see "oil life hold to reset" the next statement is "hold to reset oil" you actually have to release the reset button for 1 second and then hold to reset button again and then it will reset to 100%

I did this with the engine off. The free owners manual is at www.motorcraftservice.com

I guess the confusing part is the readout is telling you to hold when you actually have to release for one second! "who is the MAN!!!

On my 2005 Ford Freestyle:

  1. With the engine running, press and release the reset button until the oil life is showing. (The reset button is the black button coming out of the clear plastic covering the odometer/trip odometer/oil life counter. It is used to switch between display of the odometer, the trip odometer, and the oil life counter.) It show as a percentage (e.g., "33%").
  2. Turn the engine off and remove the key from the ignition switch.
  3. Reinsert the key into the ignition switch, and turn it to the "on" position (the position just before "start") -- do not start the car.
  4. Press and hold the reset button. The oil life counter will first show the original percentage (e.g., "33%") -- keep holding the reset button for several seconds and it will change to read "100%".
  5. Let go of the reset button.
  6. Turn the key back to off and remove it from the ignition switch.

The previous answer (which may apply to other Fords or other Freestyles) was:

Pretty simple,

On all 02+ Ford's you simply punch the "Setup" button. Once that is done, it will ask you to press Reset to Clear, press setup again. It should say, "Change Oil Life reset New" or something on those lines. Hit the "Setup" key once more, and it will say "Hold to Reset Oil Life". Hold reset, and the oil like will be reset to 100%. Once that is done, shut off the car, restart it and check that it worked.

If it didn't work, mess with the settings until you get it to work.

Here is how it is really done!

The first answer is generally used by Toyota not Ford. To reset the oil change light, the odometer/trip button has nothing to do with it unless it is a Toyota. For a Ford Freestyle 2006, on the steering wheel you will find a button that says "Setup". If the steering wheel is sitting straight then the button is on the right side of the steering wheel (not on the horn but the right side of the steering wheel). Turn the key to "on" but don't start the vehicle. Next press the Setup button. From there read the odometer display & it will guide you how to reset the Oil change light. Usually, you will keep hitting the Setup button until you see the oil status which for most of you is going to be 0%. Next you will be ask to hold the reset button located right next to the setup button on the right side of the steering wheel. Go ahead & hold the reset button until the oil percent changes from 0% to 100%, then you are done.

How do you change the tail light bulb in a 2006 ford freestyle also on a 2007 Freestyle?

There are three rubber gasketed 7/16" nuts with washers that hold the tailight in place. You must pull back the lining in the trunk, remove the plastic nut holding the plastic end part to access the 7/16th" nuts, there are two additional 7/16" nuts that I removed that are sis\de by side towards the bottom, but I don't believe they were necessary. I found that I had tro lightly hammer the threaded bolts outward to release the light assembly. I also thought it was easiest to disconnect the wire harness to the the tail light before removing the tail lightr assembly. The light are then exposed and remove from the assembly with a slight twist and pull straight out. The bulbs then can be pulled out of the socket. Note: the following 'alternative method' worked on a 2007 Ford Freestyle. Alternative method: There are only two screws to remove. I read a bunch of other posts because I had trouble removing the taillight. Lots of people had this same problem. After you remove the screws there are two push tabs that still need to be pulled out. They are located at the front of the taillight. I inserted a flat large screwdriver near the back and applied some pressure. This released the top one, then I applied some pressure in the gap near the front.

I don't think you will break the light, you could scratch the paint maybe. The taps are in two parts. The first part is supposed to stay in the metal and the 2nd part is supposed to release. In my case this happened on one tab and on the other tab it pulled out the wrong part. However it still went back in and holds fairly well. source: http://www.ford-forums.com/ford-freestyle/8334-tail-lights-trailer-light-setup.html We used a mini nail puller to pop the tabs. That worked, and didn't break the tabs. Also, the top tab is in the vehicle, the bottom tab comes out w/ the light cover assembly. (That's how it worked for us.)

How many gallons of gas does a 2005 ford freestyle hold?

How do you change the motor mount on a 2005 ford freestyle?

if you are talking about the upper rollover mount, forget purchasing from ford. they want 230.00 for the arm and rubber bushing. i removed the cracked bushing completely and used a standard size hockey puck, purchased for about 8.00 us. it fits perfectly with a little trimming (the i.d. of the metal bracket is approx. 3" dia. x 3/4 to 1" wide, and the puck is 3" x 1"). once the puck is fitted into the metal arm, drill a hole in the rubber puck using the hole in the bracket from the firewall as a guide, use washers on either side to center the bracket, insret bolt, and you are good to go. by the way, this part will probably last longer than the original, being as it is made of vulcanized rubber which will give a little instead of snapping off like the oem part.
