I've got a feeling it shuts off automatically when there's a certain weight in the passengers seat and the seatbelt is done up. When this happens the airbag warning light on the dashboard (not the instruments) stays on. I think the manual explains more.

there is a specialized tool set for removing and replacing glowplugs in a diesel durotorq head..but is you are a novice be informed that the durotorq diesel eniggne as fitted to Ford cars cand easily start with three even two and i have know them to start quite well on one working glowplug..the other option is to swap out the engine head for a good one with free glow plug orifaces..s

To obtain a speed pulse you would require a CanBus Unit and connect it to the correct can wires. Usualy the OBD 2 socket. Pins 14(can low) and 6(can high). :)

The belt on a Mondeo TCDI Duratorq 56 plate is part of the timing chain/belt. The timing chain and belt should be checked at 100K miles. The belt and the chain work together in the running of the engine.

Look at your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) usually the 8th digit is the engine code. Then just google its engine code with the corresponding Letter.

Above the drivers left foot area is a fuse box that is easy to see. Above THAT fuse box is another, smaller fuse box. The cigarette lighter fuse is located in THIS upper, smaller fuse box.

its behind you're glove-box you will find two bottom clips open the clips and pull firmly but gently and up on the left hand corner press the bottom of it and it drops down and the plan is on the side of the glove-box also mind it aux plug in the back of the glove-box as you wont be able to plug you're mp3 in and use it. its round and grey in the right hand corner and the wire is fairly short and mind the small damper on the left hand side too OK

The answer provided was helpful, but not totally useable. My suggestion,

1. Jack up the car and remove the wheel.

2. Undo the front part of the mud guard/flap (a few screws and clips. (buy new clips as the ones removed will be damaged beyond use)

3. Pull out the pump as suggested.

4. Undo the visible bolt holding the water bottle. (There are, apparently two other impossible-to-get-to bolts,but forget them).

5. Slide the pump cables and tubes behind the unbolted tab of the bottle. This is merely so that you can get some slack.

6. Pull off the tubes. The cable plug is held with a clip - use a screwdriver or priers.

7. The tubes are colour-coded. Push them onto the new pump. Plug in: if the plug dioes not fit, you have the wrong version of the pump. (Mine was rectangular and not round).

8. Reverse the process.

This is all very fiddly, so you wil need patience.

yyyHaving had the same problem myself, and done a lot of research, the answer is that there is a known design fault with 406 (and some 306) indicator stalks that leads to random flashing. The original part manufacturer went bust because they couldn't cope with all the warranty replacements.

Peugeot will replace it if the car is in warranty and even out of warranty on a case by case basis. If you get your car serviced by a dealer then they might replace it out of warranty to keep your business. Most people don't realise that consumer law requires all goods to be fit for purpose and withstand reasonable wear and tear - irrespective of warranty period. You don't hear of other manufacturer's indicator stalks packing up after 3 or 4 years from new

I managed to keep mine going for quite a while by wiggling the stalk vigourously up / down / back & front for a minute or two - make sure the ignition is off.

I think the problem is that the internal switch parts wear and the switch contacts touch when they shouldn't. I looked at taking mine apart, but it's not made for servicing. Dealers charge around £70 for a new stalk but you can get them for £40 or less. They are easy to fit if you are basically competent in DIY. Just find the screws under the steering column bottom cover and remove the top cover. The stalk is held in by a couple of screws and there is a push fit connector for the cable.

There is no adjuster. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) sets the idle speed and you can't change it.

Mondeo. Saabs are slow and are also very poorly made.

Yes, it is behind the rear nearside light cluster. Just remove the panels and it will be a little orange plastic box prably clipped onto the body wrok by the hole to get to the rear of the lights.

I'm not sure if there is really a engine color code on the engine, but there is a engine code. Look on the cylinder block close to where the transmission connects to. There should be a extended flat surface and the engine code should be imprinted on it. I'm pretty sure the engine code should d16z6 for an ex and si model, but on for 92-95

Kept happening on my own Mondeo. In the end removed the horn in the boot. Later found out it was the bonnet switch. Either replace it or give it a good going over with WD40. Worth a try.

It has a belt and a chain. Belt driven from fuel pump to camshaft, and chain from crankshaft to fuel pump

The knock sensor for a Infiniti i30 is located or attached to the cylinder block. It is usually located at the top of the block in the center towards the front of the block.

You need an axle stand, trolly jack, 13mm 15mm and 19mm socket, lump hammer, and a set of coil spring compressors. Firstly remove wheel, brake pipe and brake caliper(two bolts at the rear. Then remove track rod arm,(remove nut and tap with hammer and it will release. Then put the spring compressors on and tighten right up. Then undo the bolt at the bottom and to the rear of the suspension leg and now tap the hub downwards with a piece of wood and lump hammer. Once bottom release, lift bonnet and remove the 3 13mm bolts at the top and drop the suspension leg out.

locate the coil pack on right hand side top and undo the 4 screws /disconnect the wiring plug and replace with new one then plug Leeds in the same Way

My P reg mondeo wont start, there seems to no power at all when I tune the key. what can I do?
