Ford Mondeo

My P reg mondeo wont start, there seems to no power at all when I tune the key. what can I do?

It'll be a fault in the wiring at the dip stalk but you could check if there is a fuse in the dip circuit of your car which has blown (There should NOT be a fuse) It is also just possible that the dip filaments are gone on both lamps.

lighter fuse can be found by removing passenger side glove box, you will find a panel in there with around 20 fuses and a good few relays, i had to phone ford after checking box in engine only to find out there is another panel behind glove box

at the back of the glove is a lever on the left. move this to the left and you pull out the compartment and you will see the fuse box in the top at the back I believe you want fuse 69

if your mondeo is a duratorq engine then it should have a camchain

On a Right hand drive Mondeo, it's behind the glovebox (you have to remove the glovebox to get at the fuses).

The small black lever which you push to the left simply disconnects the damper which stops the lid flopping down when you open it (it is to the extreme LHS at the back when the lid is down). The Driver Manual makes it sound as if this lever releases the glovebox but it doesn't. The key to removing the glovebox is to open it fully, squeeze the sides in & then pull it open still further ie. as far as it will go. Be quite firm with it. Then, when the lid is as far down as it will go, pull it hard towards the back of the car. It does take quite a firm pull to release it. You can then access the fuse box. You can reach some fuses without taking the glovebox out by removing the trim panel underneath the glovebox (quite easy, 4 or 5 fir-tree trim clips). However, its a lot easier / more accessible if you remove the glovebox. Phil Hooper

LP port is under the wheel arch -front offside (drivers side). Remove plastic wheel arch covers to get to LP port. You can re-charge AC system with liquid R134a through HP port in engine bay. Not for the inexperianced though.

It is a safety switch ford has used forever. If the vehicle is involved in an accident, the switch is supposed to trigger not letting any fuel flow to the engine. It can be reset by just pushing like a cicuit breaker.

The answer to your question is that the snowflake appears when thoutside temperature drops to 40 degrees or below, it then changes to red when it is 32 degrees and below, thus letting you know when it is freezing outside so you know how to hand le the roads.

open the bonnet

pull the fuse out for central locking wait 2 minutes then put back in (fuse box under glove compartment ) hand book will say which fuse then reprogamme remote

hi mate to reset the key code on the mondeo you have to have the red key put the red key in the ignition turn the key to number 3 and back 4 times within 3 secs the red light will stay on the dash the car is in learn mode take the red key out put what key you want to program in and turn it to number 3 and back then use it to start the car job done it worked for so good luck but you must have the red key if not ford will be the only ones that will be able to help

You could be referring to "hollow cast" toys, also called "slush cast" or "pot metal" toys.

the main fuse box in the glove box has relays,have you got a diagram of them

If its a ford mondeo diesel 2002 , the fuel pump is located under the rear seat covered by a large rubber gasket type cover.Unfortunately ford in their wisdom didnt locate the hole directly above the pump and you can only release the electrical connector. to replace the pump involves dropping the fuel tank from beneath the car and unless your fairly handy with a spanner and have the facilities i would really reccommend a garage

if the airbag warning light comes on it means most likely that your airbag system is faulty, it should be taken to a professional to be sorted out but often on mondeos it can be a yellow plug under the seat that needs removing being wiped/cleaned and plugged back in which can solve the problem, try this on both drivers seat and passengers seat, if it doesnt work take it to a dealer.

As you may know the key can normally be re-programmed to the central locking by turning on the ignition and pressing either of the buttons. If this fails there are two common faults 1/ the battery holder inside the key has come off of the printed circuit board (if you pack the key with tissuse paper to hold the battery tight this gets over that problem. 2/ the key has lost its connection to the computer and will need to go to a vauxhall dealer to have it programmed, they use a machine called tech 2 and to programme that or any key they will need the immobilizer (security) code number. this was originally supplied with the car at time of purchase. If you have lost it a Vauxhall Dealer can get a new code but this is not cheap.
