Here are recommendations from different contributors: * first you must remove the pulley from the front (with a pulley puller) next there are three bolts holding it (15mm) remove the line from the pump first, as to not break them. remove the plug as well if you have variable assist. after the three bolts are out, it's out. * Disconnect the negative battery cable first. Remove the drivebelt. Remove the pulley using a special remover tool. Remove the hoses from the back of the pump and drain the fluid. You might want to place a rag to plug the hoses. Remove the bolts that hold up the pump. When you install the pulley, use the special tool and push it until the hub is flush with the shaft. Do not push it further than that. Fill with power steering fluid and bleed the system. To bleed make sure the front wheels are facing straight ahead. Fill it with power steering fluid until it hits the cold mark on the dipstick. Start the engine and idle it fast. Turn the steering wheel from side to side to bleed the system but do not full lock steering wheel to either side. Make sure you keep enough fluid in the power steering pump. Straighten out the front tires and leave the engine running for a few more minutes. Test you car on the road. Once you warm up the car, make sure the fluid is at the right level - it should be in the HOT mark.

The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6 in the clockwise direction.

The answer to this depends on the year. During the 1980s and 1990s (until 1999) there were very few differences between the two cars beyond the body and trim levels.

After 1999, they became completely different cars.

Between 1983 and 1997 they shared the same frame (the 'fox' frame) and the only big differences were trim levels and the availability of the standard transmission.

Keeping in mind that the Cougar has been available for decades, models before 1983 would require more research. The platforms were different a number of times in their history.

More then likely you need to replace the Thermostat.

Typically the cause of a window not rolling up or rolling up slowly is a bad motor, especially if the car is old and the motor has never been replaced.

However, there are several other possibilities such as faulty wring, blown fuse, or a bad switch.

Faulty wiring is easily checked with an ohm meter.

A blown fuse is also easily checked by checking the fuse controlling the windows on your fuse panel.

Another possibility, which is often the case in 90's Ford cars (though perhaps not for the 86 T-Bird), is the passenger side window switch is dead. If it is then the window will not roll down AND it will not roll down if you are using a switch for that window on the drivers side (if your car is equipped with two switches for the passenger window). On the 85 T-Bird both switches are on the same connection. If this is the case for the 86, then this is not the problem. However, you might want to check the switch anyway, because taking the door panel off for the 80's t-birds to get at the window motor is a pain.

Previous answers are not correct. In 1964 it is located in the engine compartment on the right side of the firewall, below the right side cowl drain.

Cassette tape players didn't appear till much later, however 8 track tape players was offered in 1966 Thunderbirds.

When I had this problem, it was a connector that had come loose. You will need to remove all screws on the instrument panel, pull it out (I wasn't able to pull it completely off, just enough to get my hand back there and I could feel the dangling wire and where it connects). Gauge works now.

if the plug is receiving power but the lights wonbt come on you may have to replace the entire lens piece since the brake lights are not a normal bulb they are built into the lens

Fords websites and it shows for a 1992 Ford Thunderbird , 5.0

( the Air Charge Temperature sensor is screwed into the lower intake

manifold on the DRIVERS SIDE of the intake manifold , it's NEAR the front

of the manifold )

* and it has a wiring connection to it

In the trunk. There is a master key operated trunk release behind the driver's seat in case the battery is dead and the trunk will not open electrically.
