The first year for the Thunderbird was 1955. That first Thunderbird was the most popular model.

On your 1997 Ford Thunderbird , 3.8 liter V6 :

Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine

Sensor 2 would be AFTER the exhaust has passed through the catalytic converter

Pull out type? There is a silver button on the side of the switch (behind dash) Push button and pull switch all the way out Then remove bezel and remove switch from behind dash Ford suggests replacing plug also

passinger side under floorpan bu jack point coverd with a steel plate follow the lines to plate remove plate to access fuel filter

lots of places to leak from, where to start,ok oil,pan gasket, drainscrew seal, oil filter seal, front and rear main seals, dip tube seal, valve cover gaskets ,andtiming cover gasket.

now for tranny, front seal, rear tail seal, pan gasket, drain seal, dip tube, and sometimes tourqe converter will leak. good luck man.

hydraulic fluid leaking from it, broken spring, broken/grinding bearing plate (some struts)

open the hood and on each side there will be a circular hole with a screw sticking out but on the sides there will be 2 bolts on one side and one on the other side. remove the 3 bolts. take off the tire and you will see that the strut has 2 bolts to undo it from the control arm. just take out those bolts and pop in the new struts and tighten the bolts back on.

I have been putting 10W30 Maxlife Valvoline in my 97 Ford Thunderbird. It is partially a synthetic oil that cuts down on wear and tear on your high mileage engine.

open the trunk, pull the carpeting out. it is usually at the back by where you change the tail lights toward the driver side.its a little black box with a little white reset button on it

Both the 3.8 liter V6 engine and the 4.6 liter V8 engine takes :

( 5.3 U.S. quarts / 5.0 liters of PREFERABLY 5W-30 )

* It also shows that the engine oil dipstick is used to determine the exact fill requirements

LOOK! It is right there applying tension to the belt. If you can't find it, then you have no business attempting to replace it.

If the digital dash lights up but shows no numbers for the speedometer on a 1989 Thunderbird LX, it is possible that a fuse is blown for the speedometer and the fuel gauge. There is more than one light in the dash for the speedometer.

Look on the trunk lid hinge supports (arms). It will either be a sticker or written with a grease pencil. If you have the owner's manual, the process for changing the door code is explained in it. It will involve cycling the ignition key from off to on several times, entering the factory preset code and then your new code. The factory code will ALWAYS stay the same and continue to work as well as your new code. I hope this helps

Evaporative Emission Control System control valve malfunction. You need a new evap control surge solenoid valve.

You dont simple as that!! You need to replace the entire thing unless you feel like soddering in a complet new led light. I have searched the entire web for a way to even access the darn thing and its next to impossible to get a straight answer. I wish you the best of luck too as I continue on my journey to fix the dang thing.

for the 4.6 liter V8 engine ( Motorcraft FL-820 engine oil filter )

You can try Stop Leak, in an emergency. The only real repair is replacement.

You can do this with a C clamp. Use a 4 inch one, so when you have it you can find many other uses for one. I RECOMMEND you check your brake hose carefully, and replace it if it has cracks or rot. It is very importment to replace brake hoses due to unknown damage inside also. They can restrict the flow of fluid back into the system which will cause a caliper to stop working ie, not release from the rotor. Then you have more problems plus having to do the same job over & spend more money. Put a shoe on the caliper then with the C clamp screw it down which will push the piston back into the caliper. Also make sure you check that any wires or connections for your ABS brakes are ok. Good Luck.

there is a little chrome catch on the bottom side, use a flat head to pull it out then pull it of....when i first did mine they were REALLY on there, you may have to pry a little

You'll need a balljoint press . Seperate lower balljoint and bottom strut mounting bolt also the bolt holding it to the frame then press out old and press in new one

Follow the spark plug wires from the distrubitor to the plugs located under the valve covers. I'm sorry but, if you have to ask that question, you SORELY need to buy either a Haynes or Chilton book on the car. It includes info on how to and what NOT to do. It's important... you could get in serious -and expensive- trouble
