How do you program the garage door opener in the 2001 Honda Accord?

According to the Owners manual, for a 2000 Accord LX, (2001?),page 84-86. You must have a garage door remote control! Press the desired key to use on the Honda panel and the remote key. The Honda panel red light will begin to flash slowly at first, then rapidly. The key code should now be learned by the Honda transmitter, and open/close the door.

To expand on this you can hold the first and third buttons on the HomeLink transmitter for your car to erase any old codes that are stored in the transmitter. Hold the first and third buttons for at least thirty seconds, or until the LED light in the HomeLink symbol stops flashing and stays on solid. You can find out more for your particular model and year of car on the HomeLink website located here: http://www.homelink.com/programming/programming.taf

If the gas gauge is stuck in one spot on a 1997 Ford Escort how do you access it to try and fix it?

check the fuse, it should be linked to other devices in the vehicle if you've noticed other components (radio, interior lights, etc.) not working. if the gauge is pegged in the super high or low position and the fuse is good, pull apart dash and check voltage reading at gauge wiring (you need voltage values from ford to determine if the gauge is out or if it is indeed telling you the right reading). If the gauge wiring checks out, the sender unit on your fuel pump went out and it is integral with the fuel pump itself. Ala, time to replace the fuel pump. Good luck.

Where are the oxygen sensors located on a 2000 Toyota Echo?

This answer will first describe the exhaust system of the 2000 Toyota Echo and then attempt to describe where the oxygen sensors are located.

The exhaust system of the 2000 Toyota Echo is a two piece unit. One piece is the muffler with a little piping at either end (located at the rear of the vehicle - the rearmost bit is open pipe from which exhaust exits the vehicle). The other part extends from the muffler all the way to the engine area of the vehicle.

Starting from the muffler and working forward with the exhaust system one sees two bits of the front pipe that are larger in size than the pipe itself. These bits are the resonator (located near the middle of the vehicle) and the catalytic converter, located toward the front of the vehicle (but still well behind the engine area.

The oxygen sensors are located in front of and behind the catalytic converter mounted into the exhaust pipe itself. The sensors have wires coming out of them - when looking at them for the first time, looking for something with wires attached sticking out of the exhaust pipe is a good way to find them.

If the author remembers correctly, the frontmost sensor (closest to the engine) comes out of the exhaust pipe toward the driver side while the rearmost sensor comes out toward the passenger side.

Sensor 1 is the sensor closest to the front of the car and the other sensor is sensor 2.

Key stuck in ignition?

This can be attributed to a couple of things. In order to remove the key you can remove the plastic piece under the ignition switch to expose a key release button. OR you can drill out the small circle in the area below the ingnition switch to access the key release button.

The stuck key may be a faulty ignition switch or a bent shift lever. This causes the lever to not make the release solenoid contact. If you slammed it into park you make have bent the contact point on the control arm.

Faulty ignition switches are a common failure.

Stepping 3 times on the accelerator pedal while in 'run" mode will reset the "Oil Change Light" but not the "Check Engine Light". Still looking for the answer...!

AnswerMost of the OBD2 code scanners have the ability to clear a code. You can usually borrow, rent or buy an OBD2 code scanner from most auto parts retailers. AnswerWell I don't know if this will work on this model but this worked on similar full-sized trucks of the same time frame. Turn the key to run but do not start engine. While in "run" mode step on the accelerator pedel (3)three times then start engine. Couldn't hurt to try it. R.W.

if its ses light remove battery ground cable for 30se.

How do you replace the rear sway bar links on a 2003 GMC Envoy?

You have to have an Allen wrench to hold the ball joint straight while turning the nut with a wrench. Once you get it loose a bit, then you can hold the ball joint still with a set of vise grips and remove the nut the rest of the way. It is good to let it soak with some penetrant oil first. Buy after market style links and they have a place for a wench on the ball joint so it is easier to hold than the stock type. Moog is a good replacement part.

Why would a 2004 envoy battery drains while driving?

Alternator is defective or the battery has a dead cell and will not take a charge. Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should have between 13.5-16 volts. Anything less and your alternator is bad.

How do you replace a 2004 GMC Envoy oxygen sensor 1?

Sensor number 1 is the one before the catalytic converter. First off, are you sure that is your problem? There are numerous things that can give you a code for the oxygen sensor. A vacuum leak, a wire burnt on the manifold, and even a bad connection. Be sure before you spend money that you do not have to . It takes a special socket to replace it and the socket can not be used for anything else.

Can a 2004 gmc envoy tow 24 ft trailer?

This will depend on the weight of the trailer and the size of your motor. If the vehicle has a six or eight cylinder motor and you are pulling a travel trailer(camper) the weight should not be an issue if you have a tans. cooler. The biggest factor here will be the wind resistance of the trailer and the relatively short wheelbase on the envoy. Also geographic issues(hills) will be an issue. If you are dealing with mountainous terrain I would not expect the 6 cylinder to work well and you will need electric brakes on the towed unit. If you are towing on relatively flat terrain the 6 cylinder will work with a tranny cooler. You're biggest problem is the short wheelbase of the envoy relative to the towed unit. If you run into high crosswinds or bad road conditions you can wind up with a case of the tail wagging the dog so to speak. If you have experience hauling trailers you should be able to handle this, if you don,t you might want to think twice about it.
