As there is no more information on what you have already checked, i shall start with basics. Have you checked the condition of the brakes? If there is plenty of brake material and the discs are not scored or rusting into the pad clamp area, then you need to get the discs checked for warp. This is normally done by placing a DTi guage on a solid stand next to the disc (touching it) the disc is then spun slowly to determine if there are significant changes in the reading on the DTi guage. If there are, then you need new discs.

It is on the air intake near the left side of the alternator.

It could, if there isn't enough oil around the pickup in the oil pan, if it happened all of a sudden i would suspect the oil pump if you had enough oil in it. If this has been going on for some time then it is probably engine wear. You can always move up to a heavier weight oil like from 5-20 to 10-30 to gain a little pressure. I would change the oil and filter if you haven't recently and see if it makes a difference, maybe the oil screen is clogged in the pan. I have 5 diesels in my fleet that have gone double their life expectancy, and I believe in high mileage motors that higher vis. oil is important I use CD rated 30 weight even in my gasoline engines but to use up to 20% Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer when changing. Big jump in oil pressure so watch how much you use ( just a dollop for a new engine),but the big difference is in when i change the oil it still has the fresh oil thickness to it, it used to come out like water, very runny.

Sorry about that, I assume you didn't/don't have any warranty? Of course this will make no difference to your lien holder payments still must be made even if the vehicle isn't driveable. Depending on what the trouble with your vehicle is, some repair facililties offer in house, and out sourced financing, talk with some and see if you can work anything out. Most will require half, some have finance companys that they have set up with to get owners qualified easier. good luck.

jack up the wheel in question, alternately push and pull on the top and bottom of the wheel, if you feel play or clunking suspect that it is indeed a bearing.

If it feels tight spin the wheel, if you hear the scraping it might be dragging brake pads or brake parts.

next grab the shaft going into that wheel and try to wiggle it, if you get any type of movement besides spinning, or if it makes a sound suspect u-joint.

Sixteen bolts. The bolts are simple to remove. I took out those bolts a couple hours ago and my tyanny pan is still hanging and I cant get it off. :( This has been a nightmare.....now i understand why meineke took an hour and a half to replace the filter.

You need to craw under the front of your GMC and on the passenger side on the front axle towards the middle you will see the actuator. You just simply unhook the wires to the actuator and the get a big wrench and loosen up the actuator up just like a bolt. It has a lot of threads on it so it might take a little bit. To install the new one just simply reverse the method. I hope this helps you out.

It's electronic, check all fuses, also check the connection to the transfer case.

Try listening to the transfer case try to engage. Mine did not engage after an engine wash. The vacuum actuater on the firewall above the distributor was not allowing vacuum to the front axle actator. You can put the truck on jackstands (all 4 wheels) and check to see if the front drive shaft engages. If so, then it's probably the vacuum actuator or the axle actuator.

My 2000 GMC jimmy had 4x4 issues. Were it would intermittently work. After numerous attempts to fix it. I found out that the control module has a metal shell which create a lot of moisture and causes corrosion which lead to the heart of the problem. Here is some home made steps I took which ended up fixing the problem.

1) check that your vacume lines are not dry and brittle, if so replace...cheap fix

2) check the vacume actuator under the battery case. If free and working its OK

3) there is a sensor on the front axle that tells the TCM if it is engaged or not . Make sure it is tightened properly. Mine wasn't.

4) the TCM on the passenger side has a connector issue. With a second person switching it in and out, wiggle the connection to see if it is loose. If so zip tie it . You will hear it engage and disengage.

5)check and clean the vacume valve on the transfer case. This. Should be part of the vacume lines.

I have a 2002 model and it's just behind the battery under the hood. In you manual it will tell you excactly where its at. Just pop the cover off and yu shoud see all the fuses there.

rlee7575-Every GM made 2005 and later supposedly have standard Onstar. If so, just call onstar and they can unlock the doors remotely. The only problem is that Onstar switched from analog to digital, so a lot of cars made prior to about 2007 have to upgrade the onstar CPU and antenna that came with the car and sign up for a one year subscription at the same time in order to use some of the features. This can be done at a dealer. Doesn't hurt to try to call though, bc the remote unlock feature may still work on the older vehicles.

There is no filter on a 2003 yukon, GM stopped inside filters in 2002
