They're big animals, bigger than humans are, so they need the water to be able to function properly. Lactating cows need more water than growing cattle or dry cows because a lot of their bodily fluids and energy are being put into milk production, which gets taken out of their body regularly when being suckled by a calf or milked by a machine. Cows also produce a lot of saliva to chew their cud and be able to swallow coarse plant-matter whole without choking (something we humans are incapable of doing), so plenty of water is a must. Water is also a crucial nutrient to a cow's diet, and just like if not able to eat, will die if it is not there for them to consume and use.
If you want a baseline as to how much a bovine typically drinks per day, it's typically 10% of its body weight per day. Lactating cows may drink one or two percent more, and dairy cows will always drink more water than beef cows, as far as actual volume is concerned versus percentage. Growing cattle also drink half as much as mature cows do, and bulls a little more to about the same as a dry or lactating cow.
They bend their heads down to the grass, open their mouths, curl their tongues around a sward of grass and pull it in their mouths, then bite down making a little sideways head motion to shear the grass off with their lower incisors, then swallow.

How many pounds of pasture can a cow eat?
The amount a cow eats in the pasture is not measured by "pounds of pasture" as pasture includes the plants and the soil. The amount of forage biomass or just forage is what you should be referring to. So, a typical 1000 lb cow will eat around 2.5% of her body weight in dry matter, which is around 26 lbs DM.

Teenagers prefer fast foods because they think that it tastes better than healthy foods and they enjoy eating it. If teenagers eat fast foods all the time then they will become obese and it won't be very good for them.
In Addition:
Teenagers like fast foods, because, guess what! They are fast. They don't take long to eat and they taste good. For a teenager like me, I love fast food, I am 5'7" and maintain a 110lbs. I just run before I eat it. I like it because its fast, I don't have to make it, and its cheap

Who is the god of woods and pastures in Greek and Roman Mythology?
You're probably thinking about Pan, but he was only associated with pastures (he was also the god of shepherds and the fertility of livestock). In Greco-Roman mythology, the trees and woods were protected by the Dryades, nymphs whose spirits were closely connected to specific trees - to the point that killing a tree could mean killing the dryad. It was a punishable offense (by men and gods) to chop down a tree without propitiating the dryads first.

What some people do is in warmer seasons, they turn their horses out at night during the coolest part of the day. During the colder seasons, they are turned out during the day. More and more people have realized horses are better off being outside all day every day with a run-in shed for shelter.

Siox Falls, SD is located right smack-dab in the middle of the tall-grass prairie plant community. Thus, the stocking rate of this area is around 0.74 acres per AUM (Animal Unit Month = 1 x 1000 lb cow with/without a calf grazed on one acre per month). Note that the AUM will be higher with heavier cows, like cows that are more commonly around 1200 to 1400 lbs, not 1000 lbs.

Humans love animals. Animals are like counselor's. Their are many types of animals that seem as if they know if you are mad such as (cats and dogs) but the most familiar is a dog. Don't get me wrong but cats are good counselor's to but not as familiar as dogs. dogs have helped save lives in all kinds of situations such as: saving people from drowning, digging people from snow, and etc. Also dogs are used for other reasons such as: guiding the blind, staying with people at the emergency room, and in nursing homes.

In volleyball, a "graze" refers to a situation where the ball lightly touches the fingers of a player during a play, often when attempting to block or dig. This contact can sometimes be subtle and may not be easily noticed, but it can affect the trajectory of the ball. A graze can also occur during a hit, where the ball briefly brushes against a player's hand or arms without full control. Referees may call a fault if the contact is deemed significant or if it affects the play.
Since cows eat grass does that mean if I have a grass allergy I should abstain from meat?
No. Your allergy is directly affected by presence of pollen produced by grasses, not by meat from grass-fed cattle. There is no risk of getting a "grass allergy" by eating meat from such livestock. Your doctor may explain this similarily.
Is horse-back riding dangerous?
Like any other sport, yes it is dangerous. You could fall off and be killed instantly or you could get kicked in the head on the ground and have the same result. There are obviously some precautions to be taken. First of all, WEAR A HELMET. It doesn't matter how old or experienced you are, you should NEVER horseback ride without one. Secondly, pay attention to what your horse is telling you. If it looks scared on the ground, don't get on because you'll probably end up back on the ground.
Now, that's not to say that you shouldn't ride just because it is dangerous. But you always need to remember that you are on top of a 1000 pound or more, prey animal who is prone to being unpredictable.
Also, when you fall off a horse, don't be too scared to get back on. Just don't rush either-you could have a broken bone and make it worse. (But then again, last Monday I fell off 3 times in one hour, and I'm fine.)
Ya its dangerous but i love IT!
