I have a good hamburger patties recipe. The advantage of making your own patties or sausages is that you can avoid all the additives, artificial flavorings, colorings, carbohydrate fillers (and sometimes sugar) that store bought sausages or patties contain. I use this hamburger patties recipe to make patties or sausages that have only 0.5 grams of carbohydrate per large serving. In fact, when I use this recipe I usually leave out the oats (which are optional) so that that the patties have only a trace of carbohydrate. They probably contain salt too.

Good question. The first hamburger was "invented" by a man called Charlie Nagreen. He was selling meatballs at the 1885 Seymour Fair, and sold his meatballs squashed between two slices of bread so his customers could carry them around more easily. Needless to say, they were an instant hit.
