Where were pizza pops first made?

The "PIZZA POP" was invented in Canada. Back in 1964 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, an entrepreneur named Paul Faraci began experimenting and testing a food product that would eventually become the standard in which everyone would try and copy - the Pizza Pop.

After months of experimenting and perfecting an acceptable product, Mr. Faraci opened a restaurant in Winnipeg and began selling his product over the counter. Demand of his product increased, and soon other restaurants were inquiring about this new "fast food" product. Wholesale sales then reached a point that he decided to close his restaurant and give all his attention to his new tasty product, the "PIZZA POP".

In order to expand further, Mr. Faraci took in two partners in 1975. They soon started selling to the retail trade. The sales went from $300,000 the first year and doubled each year until 1980, and this was only one product. Mr. Faraci wanted to expand the product line, a move his partners were not yet ready for, so he unwillingly sold out to his partners.

Mr. Faraci's partners then turned around and sold the company for a healthy profit to Pillsbury Foods. Mr. Faraci has been contacted by his former customers wanting to know if he would provide them with the original "PIZZA POP", (the product that is now being produced has been altered by the new producers, and does not have the same taste that was unique to the original "PIZZA POP") because the non-competition contractual period is over, Mr. Faraci and his family are looking at setting up production to produce the original "PIZZA POP".
