How do you add R12 freon to a 93 Honda Accord?
It won't tell you in your manual.
Adding freon is something that should be left to someone that knows what to do and has the gauges to measure how much is being put in. If you put too much in, you can damage your air conditioning system.
Now for the other side of this. Nowdays, a shop can't just add freon to a system. They have to pull the old freon out, check the system for leaks, and repair the leak if found before adding freon. Something that gets to be expensive very quickly so I can see where you would want to do it yourself and save a lot of money.
See if you can find someone that will do it for you, use your freon, and not go through all the crap. maybe a mechanic that will do it on the side or something...

What does the thermostat do in a 1994 Honda Accord?
Its job is to block the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. When the engine is cold, no coolant flows through the engine. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature (generally about 200 degrees F, 95 degrees C), the thermostat opens. By letting the engine warm up as quickly as possible, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits and emissions.
Why is the SRS light on on your 1993 Honda accord?
It is on because there is a problem with the air bags, Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Take it to a professional for repair, as this repair is not a DIY one.
In Indiana it would cost about three hundred and some change if I did it my self. I would go get either a new hood (not from dealership) or a used hood. I would then paint it. That would be about 2 hundred or so. Then the light would be about 100. Give or take some. To have someone do it around here about 500 hundred or so maybe. It all depends on the damage and what all needs to be done to fix it. Of course it depends also on how good you want it fixed. Hope this gives you an idea.Brad.

If it starts squealing, replace it right then.

2. Twist the headlamp so that you can pull it out
3. Insert the new headlamp without touching the bulb
4. Check to see from outside if the headlamp is properly fit
5. Twist the lamp to ensure that the lamp fits into the slots that are available on the headlamp. (Note: in fixed position the tail of the lamp will always point down)
6. Reinsert the white clip into the tail of the lamp
7. You should be able to pull and check for proper fit.

How do you know if you have a bad fuel injector on a 1995 Honda Accord?
If I'm not mistaken, it's just like checking fuel injectors on any other vehicle. You have to know what the resistance is (Honda should be able to give you the specs) remove the connector to the injector, take a multi-meter and set it for "ohms" and put the two probes on the contacts of the injector and you should get a resistance reading, if the reading is not within the manufacturers specs then it's a bad or weak injector.
Hope this helps, its the best i can do.
Your problem may be as simple as dirty and corroded battery connections and a failing battery. when you hear a click but it dies it is a good sign that some nasty stuff had built up between the cable and the battery post, if left long enough it will eat its way up and into the wire as well.
What would cause 2000 Honda Accord SRS light to stay on?
There is a problem with the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System)( Air Bags). It is dangerous to work on this system so have it repaired by a professional.
The ALB light comes on because of a malfunction in the Anti-Lock brake system, simply this means that you will have no ALB, but normal braking will continue.
Where is the thermostat located on a 1993 Honda Accord?
In most cases, the thermostat will be in a housing that can be located by following the upper radiator hose back to its connection point on the engine. The thermostat's job is to regulate coolant flow through the radiator, and this can easily be accomplished by placing the stat in line at the water outlet to the radiator. The lower radiator hose usually goes to the low-pressure (inlet) side of the water pump.
Answerthe thermostat on my 1992 Honda accord is in the housing where the lower radiator hose meets the engine block. this is a long hose that goes to the passengers side top rear of the engine block, from the passengers side lower end of the radiator. you may have to move the air intake hose to access the housing. i have an F22A1 motor in my car. i don't think a '93 is any different. . AnswerOn an 1989 Accord DX (2L), follow the top radiator hose to the engine block. The hose is connected to the thermostat housing, which is held in place with two 10mm bolts at top and bottom. Be sure to position a new thermostat so that its air-bleed valve is at the top. AnswerI have a 1993 Honda Accord DX 4 door and the thermostat is located at the end of the bottom radiator hose where it connects to the engine. You need to disconnect the air filter housing tube and 3 hoses. One water and two vacuumhoses. Two horizontal bolts disconnect the housing that holds the thermostat. The factory thermostat is 172.4 degrees F. or 78 degrees C. During installation make sure air bleeder hole (very small, looks like a loose rivet)in the thermostat is up. It is relatively easy to do. Hope this info is helpful. How do you fix an on SRS light on a 2001 Honda Accord V6?
How to reset your Honda SRS light works on most models of Hondas
Directions for erasing memory on SRS light, but this procedure only works if all problems causing the indicator to be "on" have been corrected.
1st Obtain an 'SCS Service Connector'. You can use a speaker harness for an older Honda, which you can buy at any stereo shop such as Radio Shack, Circuit City or Best Buy. Cut the wires and loop them together. Or use a paperclip but that will make it a little more difficult, because you have to connect-and-disconnect it a few times quickly. 2nd you need to find the MES (Memory Erase Signal) this is located in or by the fuse box it is a yellow connection, remove it from the fuse box and jumper as described below. If there are 2 yellow connectors at the fuse box under the drivers side dash, look for the one with only 2 wires. That will be the one.
MES Plug is usually in or by the Fuse box.
It is a yellow connector with two wires in it that is plugged into the fuse box, unplug it and pull it down. Once you have done that you can begin the process of erasing the memory. NOTE: This will only reset your SRS System if what caused it to trigger has been fixed, Ex: turning the ignition on with any SRS Plugs disconnected, such as pulling your seat out.
1st step in erasing the memory is to turn the ignition off and connect the SCS Service connector to the MES Plug,
2nd Turn Ignition on. SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds then go off.
3rd Disconnect SCS service connector for MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS indicator light goes off. SRS indicator light will come on again.
4th Reconnect SCS service connector the MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS light comes on. SRS indicator light will go off.
5th Disconnect SCS service connector from MES connector within 4 seconds. SRS indicator light will indicate that memory is erased by blinking 2 times.
6th Turn ignition off, and wait 10 seconds. Start vehicle like normal and light should come on and go out like normal. You have reset your SRS light, congrats.
If it does not work the first time try it again, the timing has to be perfect. My first time it took me 3 attempts before it worked, but it did work.
If this does not work and the light stays on then something is still wrong in the system.
Maybe the wire connection under the drivers seat or a fuse or bad ground or a bad clock spring (clock spring is under the driver side air bag).
Again, this procedure works only if all problems have been corrected. Good Luck!
I've seen people asking what it looks like, this is the picture of what it looks like on my 2001 Honda Accord V6, the small plug was the one for me. It did turn the SRS light off. Thank you
Can you tell me exactly what speaker harness you used for your 2001 Honda accord and exactly where I can get it? My 2001 accord shows the same small yellow plug for the MES, but I cannot find the right size speaker harness to connect to it. What store did you get it at, model number and year range of Honda's if you would?
This reset method works perfecty as described! I don't know if mine will come back on but it went out after I did this. Basicly just do the steps quickly and you will get it. Thanks to the posters of this trick!
Just use the paperclip or stiff wire, simple as can be. Don't sweat looking for a harness if you don't have one already.
thanks for your instruction, i followed it and it clear my SRS light for accord 98. It the small yellow connector with two green wires. I used a paper clip .
THE CONNECTION IS ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE FUSE BOX ON THE 2000 V6 ACCORD. THE ONLY DIFFICULT PART WAS GETTING UNDER THE WHEEL TO UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL THE CONNECTOR. THE PAPER CLIP WORKS FINE. THANKS FOR THE TIP.
Appreciation for theHi guysThis answer was extremely helpful and I was able to reset the SRS memory in my 2000 Honda Accord in a minute. It was a piece of cake. For Honda Accord 2000 model, the MES plug is under the steering column. It's a small yellow plug with only two thin green wires in it. For this specific model (2000 Honda accord...) there's another plug right next to it with two green wires. Choose the small plug yellow plug out of these two. and after that.. it's really simple and can be done in half minute.
Thanks much for the answer again.
Great advice and very thankful for the answer, saved a $100 from going to the dealership in NYCI read the initial comment as well as the other people that responded. I have a 2000 Accord LX 4 door. I was also able to reset the SRS memory after I had both front seats replaced with aftermarket racing seats. For my Honda 2000 Accord Lx it was located under the steering column towards the back of the fuse box. There were two yellow plugs with two green wires connecting from them both. I choose the smaller one (yellow plug connecting to a grey socket), NOT the larger one with the yellow plug connecting to the yellow socket(just like the poster above mentioned). I connected two wires to jump them and followed the directions above. The key is to get the timing sequence down pack, then its a snap. On the third try I got it, once you see the SRS blink twice you're home free. Dec. 2006Thanks again for the answer!!!
Appreciate the !Hi guysThanks for the Tip! This answer was extremely helpful and it worked just like that on my 2000 Honda Accord in a minute. However, Light came back on after around 10 to 12 miles run. I reset it again, but the same thing. Light came back again after 10 to 12 miles.Any thoughts or any further suggestions?
For an easy way to reset the srs light for free check out www.vehix411.com . They have free video instructions on resetting the light without taking the car to a dealer. One way to keep the SRS light off: In my case I reset the SRS light but it came back on. Found on the web that it could be an old battery. My battery indicated "Blue" on the battery indicator = good but.....Took it to a car shop and they tested it under a load and found it to be bad. Noticed my map lights and headlights flickered a little when my car (Honda CRV) was idling = bad battery or alternator. Replaced the battery since it was over five years old and reset the SRS light using the jumper wire method seen on the web and the light has not come on since. The irregular voltage caused the SRS light to come on.This worked great on my 2003 Honda Pilot. Two things that may help others with this. First is on my 2003 pilot, the MES connector is located under the dash on the driver's left side in the fuse box. It is a yellow connector in the fuse box. Second, the MES connector is plugged into an emty socket just to hold it in place, not connected to any wires. A paperclip works fine, just stick it into the yellow plug you just pulled out. By the way, it was an old battery that caused the SRS light to come on in the first place so resetting fixed the problem. Thanks
