Do Islams believe that Jesus was the son of God?

Adherents of Islam are called Muslims. Muslims believe that Prophet Jesus, God bless him and grant him peace, was one of the most important messengers God sent to humankind. Islam teaches that he was born of a virgin, was able, through God's grace, to perform miracles, never married, and left the earth miraculously without having died. Islam teaches that he will return to the earth to defeat the Anti-Christ, will marry, will rule the earth for a time, and then, along with all good people, will die as the terrible Last Days begin, before the Day of Judgment. What are the differences between christian worship and Islamic worship?

The Muslims worship Almighty God (Allah) in many ways.

1. Offering prayer five times a day. This is the formal worship. They may also offer prayer - Niwafil- for special purposes, e.g. for success in examination, business, etc.

2. Paying charity -2.5% obligatory. As much as one may afford voluntary.

3. Performing Hajj (Pilgrimage) once in life- obligatory

4. Looking after the orphans, poor relatives, neighbours, all humans, animals, birds, all living beings in general

5. Remembering Almighty God and obeying all his commands.

6. Doing justice to all

7. Earning livelihood through lawful means and spending it lawfully.

As for as the Christian worship is concerned, I think that Hazrat Jesus Christ (May peace be upon him) didn't prescribe any particular manner for formal prayer. The manner of Christian worship might have been formulated later on. However, I would myself like to know how, how many times, in which manner Prophet Jesus Christ (MPBUH) prescribed the formal worship.

What is the leader of the Muslim faith called?

It seems like the question is looking for the answer "Caliph". Caliphs used to be the "Pope of Sunni Islam". They were religious leaders and political leaders, although they were more often one than the other. (In the early period, the Rashidun Caliphs were both, the Umayyad and Abbassid Caliphs were more political than the religious, and the Seljuk and Ottoman Caliphs were more religious than political.) There has been no Caliph since the abolition of the Caliph in Istanbul by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1936.

There are numerous varieties of religious non-political Islamic leaders such as Imams (Islamic Priests), Qadis (Islamic Judges), Mullahs (Islamic "Bishops"), Faqihs (Islamic Jurists), 'Alems (Islamic Scholars), Ayatollahs (Shiite Islamic "Patriarchs"), and Muftis (Islamic "Archbishops"). While they may at times have political power, like the Ayatollahs of Iran, their primary function is not political. Most Islamic scholars believe that there should be a divorce between the actual rulers and the Islamic religious leadership so that Islam cannot be blunted and warped to defend immoral political practices.

There are also numerous varieties of political non-religious Islamic leaders such as Sultans, Kings, Emirs, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers, Governors, etc. While these individuals may have religious authority, this is not their primary function. An example of this religious function is that Sultan Suleiman I created an Ottoman Legal Code based on Qur'anic values which has been upheld by the Qadis and the Faqihs as a valid interpretation of Islamic Law.

What is the difference between a Mullah and an Imam?

In sunni Islam there is no such thing as a Mullah but the word can be used to describe an imam in some parts of the world. an Imam leads the prayer. In the Shia religion a mullah is the man who leads the prayer and is educated in Islam. An imam is not someone who leads the prayer but a group of 12 religios leaders that were alive 1400 years ago. You might of heard of Imam Khomeini, he is not regarded as an imam but it is used just for respect.

Generally, both a Mullah and an Imam are religious leaders who can read, recite, and interpret the Quran, as well as lead the people in prayer. They are both seen by the community as figures who can answer questions and possibly give advice regarding interpretation of the Quran. However, a Mullah is typically associated with the Sunni community, whereas an Imam is associated with the Shia. Imam can also be used as a term of respect for a person who is not considered an Imam by "trade". This information came to me from one of my coworkers, who is an Afghan Muslim.

They feel like they are one with god and that nothing else matters in the world, just themselves and Allah.

Why are only Muslims considered terrorists?

They are misinformed and probably do not personally know any Muslims.

It comes from an unfortunate tendency for human being to generalize from small samples. Thus, the only "Muslims" some people know of are of the 9/11 terrorists. As these are the only Muslims known, people then assume that all Muslims are like that.

This is an example of stereotyping. Stereotyping, in its extreme, can lead to racism, classism, gender bias, and a whole host of other problematic behaviors.

From a anthropological/behavioral science standpoint, stereotyping is an evolutionary survival mechanism; it allows a person to make some base assumptions about how to react to a situation based on prior experience. However, it needs to be countered by willingness to expand experiencial knowledge based on new facts.
Some people are so gullible to believe anything the media says and sometimes the media lies that's why

Answer 4

Islamic Imperialism (both conquest of new territories and internal laws within the Islamic Empires)

Answer 5

Trade and Peaceful Evangelism of Non-Muslims outside of the Islamic Empires.

Answer 6

Islam spread due to a number of factors. It is notable that although there are a few occurrences of Muslims carrying out the "Convert or Die" scenario, this is not the most common reason for Islam's expansion as a belief.

1) Citizenship in Islamic Empires by Conversion: The Islamic Empire was interesting in that being the leader or a person of import in the Empire was not contingent on ethnicity or place of birth as was the case of most prior empires. All a person had to do to gain power and prestige was to convert to Islam. This simple integration mechanism resulted in massive number of Persians, Berbers, and Turks converting to Islam. In fact, the furthest expansions of Islam (Spain, India, West China, South Russia, the Balkans) were all accomplished by non-Arabs (respectively Berbers, Persians/Mughals, Turkmen, Azeris, and Ottomans).

2) Commerce: Islam, like most religions, spread also through peaceful means of commerce and education whereby non-Muslims learned of the faith and adopted as their own amidst business dealings with Muslims. This was most prominent in West Africa and Indonesia.

3) Universality: Islam, as a religion, claims salvation for all people in all places, making the religion very attractive, especially to people born into low castes and bad economic positions. This had special resonance in India since it provided a way for Untouchables and Sudras to shed their status.

4) Pressures to Convert to Islam in Islamic Empires: Islamic States have historically created a set of benefits that only Muslims could partake in, making a choice to be Muslim tied to choices about economic viability (which trades you could work - especially in government) or tied to choices of social standing. These would strongly weight the choice and produce a steady stream of converts by their very nature. Conversely, Apostasy (the conversion of out Islam to another faith or to atheism) is an offense punishable by death. Therefore, a choice made by one person binds the hands of all of his descendants.

5) Support of the Locals for Islamic Empires:Even considering the pressures to convert to Islam, Muslims professed to (and did) treat minorities far better than many of the Non-Islamic States they overran. This led to religious minorities (especially Jews and minority Christian sects) from within the conquered territories helping Muslims to secure outposts and positions, freeing the Muslims to continue to spread the religion.
