How do you replace the alternator on a 1993 Isuzu truck?

Hi, FIRST take the ground off the battery!! Then loosen the belt and slip off look at the wires on the back-if you can remove them do so, if not remove the adjuster bolt and pivot bolt and position in a better place-the heavy wire is the output wire-if it's loose your alternator may be good. Unplug the regulator connector and bring to a parts store to check. Good luck

What type transmission fluid does an Isuzu npr take?

This depends on the year of the truck - Pull out the transmission dip stick clean it and it will tell you. Dexron works for Isuzu NPR models up to early 2007.

But PLEASE NOTE that for late 2007 and up, NQR and NPR Imported Trucks come with a new type of automatic transmission that requires an inexpensive silicone-based transmission fluid. It is a must that you use a silicone-based fluid such as Isuzu SCS Automatic Transmission Fluid -- Isuzu part # 2-90531-200-0. If you don't use the proper fluid, it will burn up your transmission in a matter of a day. You cannot use regular automatic transmission fluid or a petroleum based fluid like Dexron in the NQR or NPR trucks built after late 2007.This fluid is not expensive at all, it costs about the same as Dexron.

Where is the tachometer trigger connection on a 1992 Isuzu pickup Has a distributor but not a standard coil Some device bolted to the valve cover acts as the coil?

Connect the trigger wire to the yellow/blue wire that is joined to the Blue wire from the coil. Don't use the yellow blue at the coil, the connection you want is a junction point where the blue meets the yellow blue. It is at the plug that hooks to the coil. Just connected mine and it works fine - 2.6L 4 cyl. Connect the trigger wire to the at the Blue wire from the coil. Just connected mine and it works fine - 2.6L 4 cyl.

Where is OBDII connector Isuzu Oasis?

I would visit the automotive car repair wiki, which has a database of OBD2 locations for all vehicles. In your case for a 98 its on the passenger side rather than the driver side like most vehicles. See photo below. http://www.fixexpert.com/obd2/data/honda/odyssey/1998.jpg If you wish to look up others OBDII port locations for other vehicles try the main link at: http://www.fixexpert.com/wiki/OBD-2+Location Good Luck.

How do you reset the oxygen sensor light on an Isuzu?

Never heard of nor have I seen an Oxygen Sensor light. If you are referring to the Check Engine Light, then that light comes on when there is a problem with the emissions controls. It may be a bad O2 Sensor or it may be many other things. Don't assume the O2 sensor is bad. Depending on the year vehicle you own, which you failed to mention, you reset the light on most 1995 & older vehicles by disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. On most 1996 & newer vehicle, you reset the light with an OBD2 scan tool.

What are time and material costs to change a king pin on an Isuzu npr?

Here's a quick break down of parts and labor for replacement of left and right king pins on an Isuzu NPR.

Removal of tires, calipers, hub and rotors, ABS sensors, backing plates, drag link, tie rods from spindle, king pin set pins, king pin grease caps, hammering out old king pins from axle/spindle, press out old KP bushings, press in new KP bushings, size bushings to new KP using hone (as needed), set up of end play of spindle using new shims and lower bearing, repack all 4 wheel bearings with new grease, new grease seals, new kp set pins, new kp grease caps, grease new KP, and finally, reassemble of previously removed components. All this at a decent truck shop will run you about 8 hr's of labor.

Road test and check for drift right to left, pulling right to left, steering wheel clear vision centered. If any faults are found either caster/camber will need to be addressed. To correct pulling we use 1-4 degree axle shims installed under the front leaf spring(s) to correct a pulling condition. If vehicle drives good and straight then toe adjustment is recommended for good measure. Also removal and centering of steering wheel as well. This repair and adjustment for caster/camber/toe set and center steering wheel is 2.5 hr's of labor. If only toe and steering wheel centering then it's 1.2 hr's labor.

Parts for this repair are around this:

King pin set: $350.00

Front grease seals: $20.00

Brake clean: $6.00 each

Grease: $ 5.00

Axle shims $ 15.00 each

missolanias freight tax etc: $150.00

Scenario 1Labor @ 120.00 an Hour @ 10.5 Hr's=$1,260.00 (caster camber/toe-set)

Scenario2" " @ 9.2 Hr's=$1,104.00 (toe-set only)

Parts approx = $550.00

Parts and labor scenario #1= $1,810.00

Parts and labor scenario #2= $1,654.00

This is what my shop has charged for king pin repairs with the above noted procedures done. This is an approxamete give or take a couple hundred but prob pretty close to a decent truck shop will charge for an Isuzu NPR king pin replacement. Hope this helps.

Why do i hear valve tapping when engine is cold?

Incorrect weight oil. Incorrect size or cheap filter. Partially clogged oil galleys. Install the correct weight oil as listed in your owner's manual, and install a quality filter. If you have a GM vehicle install an AC/Delco filter. Other's use Purolator or Wix filter.

Should gearbox left in neutral when parking truck?

Personally, I always leave my vehicle in gear when parking, as an added safety precaution- should the handrake fail whilst it's parked, the engaged gear acts as an extra brake. 1st gear is best, or (if pointing downhill) reverse- but ALWAYS remember that you've left the vehicle in gear before you set off again!!
