99.99% of the time this is the common blend door failure. You can go to 100% by reading the HVAC dianostic codes. With the HVAC system on, hold down the AC and re-circ buttons simultaneously while turning the drivers side temp knob one click clockwise. Codes will flash on the temp LCD display. pass side radiator not all the way down on the side. i think you can get at it if you take the light bezel off the right headlight. 4 scews has the turnsignal light in it.

...actually, remove the grill, not the light bezel.

possibly a fuse in the fuse box on the lower firewall under the dash on the lower left, it could be the flasher itself available at autozone, a bad relay, i doubt all 4 bulbs but possibly a connection is bad and shorted the system.

at the back of the hood, base of the windshield there is a black plastic piece that your wiper arms are coming out off. remove the wiper arms and the black cowl and you will see the wiper motor off the the driver side and you can figure it out from there.Good luck

Never heard of this but I have had some onery tubes in the past. Cut the power off the light. Grab the tube and turn it anticlockwise 1/2 turnv while pulling down lightly No? Then try clockwise. No?

Its in behind the glove compartment. Remove your glove box and you will see it. Its white and king of oval shaped. You can pick some up at a wrecker for about 25 cents (thats what I paid). You may have to pull it out yourself, about a ten minute job all in.

easily. Buy a converter from local parts store for r12 to r134 system should cost 6-10 dollars. Screw converter onto AC fittings and charge as a normal system Freon is about the same cost.

I found this switch inside the car under the dash on the wall. Look where the clutch pedal arm hits the back of the wall underneath the dash. There is a little switch that pushes in when the clutch is depressed. This can be unscrewed with a wrench and pulled out from the back and replaced. There are the electrical wires that just need to be moved to the new one. Hope that helps.

it probably has air in the fuel line i would turn the key to the run position then bleed the air out of the shrader valve located on the fuel rail ( it looks like a tire valve stem ) then try to start if that dosent work i have seen some Cherokees that you had to use starter fluid to get them to start then they act normal and start on their own after that.

It monitors the exhaust for the proper air to fuel mixture of 14.7 to 1. It sends a signal to the computer to add or subtract fuel to keep this air/fuel mixture as close as it can be for maximum performance and fuel economy. All 02 sensors on all vehicles perform this function.

You first need to find out why this is happening. Something is wrong with the SRS. This is not a DIY repair. Take it to a professional for repair. They will reset the light after repairing it. Otherwise the air bag may not deploy in an accident or may deploy at any moment. Don't take the risk. Get this fixed.

under the dash pass. side look at heater you will see a plug with several wires that look like thy go into the heater there is a one screw plastic cover over this area so your feet dont hit it remove then uplug the wires then take the 2 screws out of oval shaped sensor and pull it out of heater you will see some transister on the back side and a little coil . replacing this will cure it usually . but first remove your heater blower and make sure it turns freely and not seizing.

The markings for timing is located behind the crank pulley, below the water pump. This is true for all Jeep Cherokees 1988-2001 I6 -4.0 I own 2001 Cherokee, my brother owns 89 Cherokee, my hommie owns, 92 Cherokee. Timing markings can only be seen when the serpentine belt has been removed.

I just changed the serpentine belt on my 97 Cherokee 4.0First look for the belt routing label under hood if you can't find the label, make a drawing of belt routing before starting. Loosen the 2 top power steering pump bolts then loosen the nut in the center of the idler pulley (below the power steering pump) then wind the tensioning bolt at the lower left side of the power steering pump bracket counterclockwise (lower left side looking at the bracket from front of car) belt should slide off. installation is the reverse. Caution! be sure to route belt per the diagram under hood (or the drawing that you made before you started this job)you could cause the water pump to run backwards. Not Good!!Tension the belt to 1/4 to 1/2 inch deflection between pulleys by turning the power steering pump tensioning bolt clockwise. Run engine 3 to 5 minutes to seat the new belt. Then shut down and recheck belt tension. You want 1/4 to 1/2 inch deflection when you push in the belt between pulleys. Tighten all bolts. Don't forget to tighten the idler pulley bolt in center of pulley. You'll need 13mm,15mm and 17mm wrenches.

It's a 30 dollar part. The unit should be located near the filter. Unplug/Unscrew the old one and insert new and plug in.

1st there are no air bag sensors.there are impact sensors located on the front by the core support for the radiator. and 2nd why are you looking for the sensors? will be able to help with more information.

XJ - Most common of all the Cherorkees, came with two motor sizes.

Four Cylinder: 2.5 liter

Six cylinder 4.0 liter (standard and High Output)

The 4.0L six cylinder firing order is: is 1-5-3-6-2-4

It should use DOT3. Look on the master cylinder cap to be sure.

There are 2. upstream and downstream. they require a special tool(slotted socket that allows removal without breaking wire connection. Very easy though. just unscrew and remove, just dont break wire connection.

You can use the factory approved method with a $125.00 wiring part.

Another possibility is the $25.00 part at any auto store the wiring converter , but this may interfere with the computer system in the chreokee. It's you choise

First you have to take off the couple of screws on the bottom of your door panel. Then you take a flathead screwdriver and pop off the screw covers on the back of the tail light (brake light) on the inside of the car. There are two of them. After that take out the screws under the two screw covers on your brake light. Now you

look for the wires, follow them to where they go on the engine. get a 5/8 spark plug wrench, turn to the left. installation is reverse of removal. be careful to make sure the you do not cross thread the new plugs. don't over tighten.

The most common problem with 1999 and up Jeeps over heating is the cooling fan relay. On your 2003 Jeep, if it has an A/C, check to see if the A/C clutch remains engaged when you turn it on. Both the cooling fan and the A/C clutch runs off the same relay circuit. The cooling fan relay is located below the passenger side head light assembly, you'll need to remove the fachia to access it.

Open up the hood, and go in behind the fixture where the light is located. Sometimes there is an access panel on top. Open it and reach down inside and grab the bulb's socket. Twist the socket a quarter turn counter clockwise, and pull out the socket. Grab the bulb, and pull it straight out. To replace the new bulb, never touch it with your bare fingers, as this will greatly shorten the bulb's life, if it even work's at all. Use a tissue or something else in that order to handle the new bulb. Push the new bulb into the socket, put the socket back into the housing, and twist a quarter turn clockwise to secure the socket into the fixture.

That's a tough question to answer definitively, but my 93 Jeep Cherokee Sport has 252,000+ miles on it and it's still running reasonably well now in 2009. I bought it new in '93 and simply gave it regular service checks. The biggest issue I have had with it is overheating. I hear that's a common problem with earlier model Cherokees. Just look at the paint on the hood of almost every Cherokee over 5 or 6 years old. I recently took it in for servicing because it was leaking oil from just about everywhere except the filter. All the seals and gaskets seemed to wear out at the same time, so I had them all replaced. It was rather an expensive proposition, but considering it's 16 years old with over 250K miles on it, that's not too bad. I intend to keep my Cherokee until the motor falls off and then I'll have it restored and keep on driving it. My daughter's '88 Cherokee Laredo had 270,000 miles on it and was running OK right up until it was stolen late in 2008.
