Can a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4.7L tow a 4.2L Jeep Wrangler on a flatbed trailerI'll not sure of trailers weight?

Yes you can but i would not recommend it at all. Jeeps arent made for towing heavy loads, especially another vehicle on a trailer. If its a short distance i would say use a hitch and rope but a flat bed on a jeep is not a good idea whatsoever. It is not the idea of can it do it, because yes it will move, but it is horrible on the vehicle to do so.

Midas told you that the transmission fluid dipstick on your 2006 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo was missing but the dealer tells you that Chrysler uses a plug instead. how is the fluid checked then?

Just had the same problem on my 2006 Jeep. Apparerently there are a couple of O-rings in the side of the transmission housing the deadler guessed was the problem due to the number of failures that have been repaired. All started with a puddle of fluid, to raising the hood to check fluid level before I drove the car anywhere to check the problem, NO DIP STICK, only a plug that states "Dealer use Only". So now I have to take a chance and drive the car or have the car towed to a dealer to first check the fluid level with their "SPECIAL TOOL". I choose to drive as luckily it was not far. First thing out out the dealers CSR was "It probably the connector o-rings, we have a lot of that lately". Well great, now I am part of their statistics. He said as a courtessy he would have a technition check the lever with their special tool. Well, I witnessed the whole thing and their special tool is a regulare metal cable dip stick with a ridgid 4 inche metal strip attached to the end. As the tech inserted the cable I notice there was more length left when the cable bottomed out on the base of the transmission. He then retracted the cable and looked at the graduated scale on the stick and annouced it was 3 quarts

Why would the speedometer on a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee bury itself when going 60 MPH but return to normal about 15 minutes later?

I do not think these have a cable. Mine has a sensor wich is located on the driver side, there is a small ( 13 mm? ) bolt, undo that, mark the position of the unit and pull that out look at the plastic gear inside if it is worn replace it, if not change the sensor. Mine was doing the same thing I contacted mechanic and that is what he told me, the sensor is about 25 bucks at rock auto, or a few more $$ if you have a Baxter auto store where youre at. Hope this helps.

Where is the fuel filter located in 2002 Jeep Overland?

Answer : the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump inside the tank. The older grands use to have the filter outside the tank.

Fuel filter

If I'm not mistaken from 1998 and upon the Grand Cherokee the fuel pumps were omited - all there is; is a nylon screen at the fuel pump intake itself (inside gas tank) - bad move in my opinion on Chryslers part .

Where is the heater coil on a 1997 jeep Cherokee and how do you change it?

O.K... You've just asked the proverbial '$64,000 Dollar Question"! My initial answer to you (not intended to offend), is: If you don't know where it is and how to change it, you might want to reconsider doing it! The heater core (and the air conditioning evaporator core) is located inside of the evaporator case, which is a large, black, plastic box, located behind the dash. This case (and the heater core) can only be accessed by removing most (depending on your level of expertise) of the dash. I, personally, do not remove the steering wheel, but many techs do (have to?) and all manuals tell you to. Additionally, if you have a console running between the seats, it also must be removed. Note that removing the dash in order to access the core is only half the job, as once you actually remove the core case, it must be placed on a bench, opened and the heater core removed and replaced. This, in itself requires patience and care as not to damage the doors, etc., and care must be taken when re-assembling the core case not to damage any doors, etc., and to make sure that all doors, etc., are functional (nothing is worse than getting the entire thing back together and finding out that something isn't right and/or doesn't work!). I'm not sure how much farther to go with this without knowing your skill level and willingness. Let me say though that this is a challenging job for techs at the intermediate level and even for advanced level techs takes some time and patience in order to prevent problems. Most repair manuals/labor guides call for somewhere in the area of 7-9 labor hours of time. In real man's terms this means a good day/day-and-a-half's worth of work. I, as I'm sure many others have, gotten the repair time down considerably by knowing exactly what tools are required and where everything is (many of the connections and tools are on the engine side of the firewall as well. Two things to consider: First, replacing the heater core requires discharging the A/C system, which requires specialized equipment in order to perform this operation leglly and safely. Secondly, if you are going to replace the heater core (or even have someone else do it), it might not be a bad idea to consider replacing the A/C evaporator core at the same time. I recommend this to my customers in many cases (not to make extra money), because modern-day evaporators last about seven years and then begin to leak. It would be a shame to have to do/have someone do all this again if the A/C evapoator core began to leak months after changing the heater core! Good Luck. SDIgroup

Where is the Airbag Control Module located on a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

It is under the center console. There are six screws. Two at the bottom of the console storage area and four under the shifter lever (the shifter letters, drive , park, etc., pry up and snap in and out). The part number is Mopar 56007706AB.

WARNING! IT is dangerous to do anything with the Airbag Control Module. If you must, please disconnect the Negative battery cable FIRST for 5 minutes! This will make sure the airbag does not deploy by accident causing thousands of dollars in damage and possible injury. If you have problems with gauges, power windows, air conditioner compressor, and information center console not working, disconnecting the Airbag Control Module will temporarily correct problem until you replace the Module.

WARNING! Should not be attempted by amateurs!
