How to lubricate steering linkage jeep wranger?

Depending upon the year, there will be zerk fittings located at several points of movement on the undercarriage. Buy a grease gun and get some marine grade grease and push the fitting over the zerk and pump it full of grease until if you can see the seals bulge and start to leak out. Wipe off the excess and call it good. You should make a point to grease these items every 10,000 miles or so depending upon use. There also zerks located at the knuckles on the front axle and at the universal joints for each driveshaft.

Had same problem with a 1995. changed alternator. worked for about 2 days. Then same problem. Took it in, found it was a bad negative battery cable. Looked fine but needed to be replaced. Had the exact same problem with my 98' TJ, it is internal corrosion on the smaller of the two red wires comming off the battery and going to the PDC. Replace the Battery cable!!! Fixed the problem on my Jeep.

What size rim is on a stock 2004 Jeep Wrangler rubicon?

The stock size wheel for the Jeep Rubicons are a 16" wheel.

Will 15 inch wheels with 4.75 inch backspacing fit on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado?

The rims should fit on that truck...the only concern would be if they upsized the brake pads from 1998. i have a 98 and had fifteens on it for a while without any problems. the 4.75" backspacing is just a measurement of how far the wheels will stick out...not 4.75 inches, but the difference between that and the factory backspacing. EX: if the backspacing on those rims from the factory are 3" your rims should stick out an additional 1.75 inches. hope this helps ya out! 95 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande 4WD shaft turns but the front wheel just set there doing nothing any ideas?

95 Jeep 4WDAssuming the front jug is not making horried grinding noises, does the front axle have lockouts on it?

when you shift into 4wd do you hear grinding or do you have a hard time getting it to 4wd? If so start w/ adjusting the linkage for your shift levers, you will find them under your truck, should be on the left hand side. diconect the linkage and put it to 4wd by moving the lever that is comming out of your transfer case, if it goes into 4wd, adjust the linkage, once the linkages is conected make sure it goes into 4wd low, high, net., and rear wd. if this doesn't work your shiftfork could be bent.

How do you measure the bolt pattern on your jeep?

Take a piece of paper and a pencil and lightly trace the lugs on the wheel.

this will give you the pattern. Then you can go to another rim and see if it matches the holes in the rim you want to put on. Charcoal also works with this method.

A second option is to measure the distance from the center of one lug nut to the center of another lug nut. If you measure the same on the rim you want to put on it and the distance is any less or greater, it will not fit.

Can you put rubicon rims on a 94 wrangler?

The 2003-2006 Rubicon rims have a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. I think that the 94 wrangler has the same bolt pattern but I'm not positive. 2007+ rims will only fit on 2007+ vehicles.

How to Change rear brake rotor on 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

well I did it changed out the front wheel teves for the akebono calipers, as well as new pads and rotors on the rear.

I had to use a meter plus long breaker bar on the top brake bracket bolts

and because the braker bar would like no way fit the lower brake bracket bolt

I used the torque multiplier on the lower brake braket bolts.

and a lot of Moovit liquid penetrant foaming liqi-wrench

I do not have a lift just jackstands to raise this truck

I like the T-multiplier because the input was my old 10 inch ( tool ) hand rachet by Kane

this always surprisingly turned out those bolts with just a moderate amount of hand pressure.

I could not used heat on these bolts because they were buried behind the rotor and I couldn t reach em.

The breaker bar had to be at just the right angle and with enough clearance in the wheel well ,

at a meter plus long that was hard to find.

Likewise the torqure multiplier is about 5 inches plus thick at the handle when setup , so access to the top brake bracket bolt was not doable.

Interesting note on my WJ the teves caliper pins were torques T45 type recessed pins and not hex as others have mentioned

In the end I like the operation of the torque multiplier best, just put the reaction arm against an old 2by4 on the ground or a part of the truck and the bolt will just ease on out -- but dont get anything human in there cause it really builds up pressure , I used the 4 to 1 ratio Tmultiplier but a 9 to 1 exisits also

hmm I wonder if this T-multiplier thing can twist out the lower pinch bolt in a rear automotive app for the macpherson struts were a "pinch" bolt is used instead of an air compressor wrench combo ?

any way the akebono plus new napa disks are in my wj , Raybestos pads and new brake fluid , has a new car feel

the old wj never stopped better a nice upgrade mod I recommend to those with strong arms

Tools:

Phillips Screwdriver

Flat-head Screwdriver

Pliers

Materials:

Vampire Clip>

Steps:

1. Begin by removing the 44" plastic defroster vent trim cover. This is held in place by 5 metal spring clips under the cover. To remove: Use the flat-head screwdriver and gently pry up the cover starting near the VIN # plate. Work your way across the cover until all 5 spring clips are free. Set this cover aside.

2. Now you have access to the 2 Phillips screws at the top center of the dash. Remove these two screws and be careful not to loose them down the defroster vent. Now the center heater/radio cover can now be removed. It is held in place by the 2 screws removed and 4 spring clips on the back of the cover. Start at the bottom corners below the power-outlet and locker switch and use the flat-head to gently pry the cover off. Set this cover aside.

3. Now there are 4 screws that hold the power-outlet and locker switch panel in place. Use the Phillips screwdriver and remove these. Allow the group to hang down freely.

4. Find and verify the locker switch. The wire plug connecting the locker switch may be removed to allow more room to work. On 2003 and 2004 models, locate the Black Wire and the Red Wire with White Stripe going to the locker switch. On 2005 and 2006 models, locate the Black Wire and the Violet Wire with Orange Stripe going to the locker switch. Depending on your model year use the Vampire Clip to connect these two wires. Make sure that before crimping both wires are in its own channel running through the connector. Use the pliers and squeeze the metal contact down until it is flush with the connector. Close the plastic hinge over and snap into place.

YOUR DONE! Re-attach all of removed components and enjoy the full use of your Rubicon Lockers.

**Note** Some of the spring clips may have gotten stuck during removal. Simply ues the pliers to remove them and attach them to the plastic covers.

**Note** This can also be removed in order to return the Rubicon back to stock locker restrictions.

Note: this will void the axle warranty from the dealer!!!!
