Can you see a diagram of thermostat housing in a 2003 Lincoln LS?
If you are seeking to replace your thermostat:
1. Remove the engine cover.
2. You will see a plastic cap to the left of the throttle body. This is the radiator cap. Carefully open it - it's expensive. Look down the cap's housing there to see the thermostat.
3. Remove the radiator cap housing and attached hoses to remove/replace the thermostat. Before you do that, carefully note the position and placement of the thermostat, which is in two pieces.

Where is trunk light fuse for Lincoln ls?
The fuse for the trunk light on a 2001 Lincoln LS is in the trunk. It is fuse number 4. It is a red 10A mini fuse. The trunk fuses are in the spare tire compartment. Lift up the cover in the trunk and latch it. You should see the spare tire and the car's battery. Next to the battery is a black fuse box. It has a lid that you can swing up and take off. The lid has the fuse numbering system for the box. Again, you are looking for number 4, which is a red 10A mini-fuse. It is the fourth one from the left in the upper row of mini-fuses. If you read the owners manual, page 184 lists the fuses for the trunk fuse box. The manual does not list the trunk light. However, the trunk light is on the same fuse as the fuel door release solenoid. Note that page 183 has a diagram of the fuses in this fuse bad and a diagram showing where the box is in relation to the spare tire and battery.

What are common problems in a 2002 Lincoln LS?
I hear the powersteering pumps are defective. The Valve cover gaskets are prone to leaking, The Hot Coolant Control Valve (HCCV) goes out on almost everyone, and the most expensive problem is the coils go out.
The valve cover gaskets & the coil problems are usually one in the same. If the gaskets leak long enough oil will pool in the boots of the coil plugs. Coils cannot be cleaned, and will have to be replaced for about $70.00 per X 8 =$560.00 if all need replacing. There is however no need to replace all just because you replace one. Check each coil to see if there is excess oil. My recomendation is if one valve cover gasket needs replacing , be proactive and do both.
I also bought a 2002 Lincoln LS and had several more problems other than the coils and the valve gaskets. The coils are relatively easy to replace yourself and can be done one at a time as they go bad but the valve gasket is a thing a dealer really should do. I have not had to replace all my coils so far however only 6 out of the 8. In addition to these issues leaky headlights and window regulators are also a common problem in these cars. I have had to replace one leaky headlight that fogs and one window regulator. I replaced the window regulator myself and it is possible to save costs but it is a job to do. Other than this the car is wonderful and I love it The car runs great once the coils are fixed and has plenty of power in the V8.

How to replace a 2000 Lincoln ls v8 window regulator?
It's fairly easy on the rear windows, but a bit more difficult on the fronts. I've done one each on mine (window regs are notoriously flimsy on the LS). Just remove the screws from the trim panel on the inside of the door, pull the window up (if it isn't already) and tape it in place over the top of the window frame. The rest is a matter of basically doing the obvious. I didn't have any instructions, but completed the work needing only basic tools.

Repairing it requires replacing the entire shifter assy. complete with top bezel. Ford only supplies parts the way they were purchased for the assembly process in their plants.

Can you use 87 octane gas on a 2000 Lincoln LS?
Would highly suggest NOT using anything but premium. Lower octane fuel could mess witht the emissions system damaging sensors and/or catalytic convertor. Also more than likely will decrease fuel economy and cause a pinging sound from the engine. Its really not worth the risk of damaging anything to save a couple bucks at the pump
