All Name brand oils are good. I use Pennzoil and have for 30 years with no internal engine problems. Changing the oil/filter and the air filter regularly are more important than the brand you use. The Air Filter should be changed at a minimum of every 30,000 miles and more often in a dusty climate. Change the oil & filter every 5,000 miles and use a quality filter such as Purolator, Wix, & Motorcraft. It is also critical to use the exact weight oil recommended by Lincoln for your 1999. You can also use a Synthetic oil and extend the oil change interval to 8,000 miles.

That would depend on the year of your Navigator and Expedition.

Which filter are you referring to? The enginge, cabin or pollen filter? The engine filter On driver side there is a big plastic box. Remove two screws from backside and pivot off. Remove old filter install new.

Near the front driver side headlight is a cone looking black piece that reads "air cleaner". You should be able to just loosen the black metal strap wrapped around it and pull the two pieces apart (air cleaner cover and filter held on to oxygen sensor area). If not then loosen the 3 bolts that hold the "air cleaner" piece down and then loosen and remove the metal strap. It's a cone filter that you twist lightly to loosen. Remove and replace with a new one (or a performance filter) Put the black metal strap back on and if need the 3 bolts and all is done.

When it comes to electronic stuff. I would take it to the pros. like the dealer or at lease someone who is certified. If not it may cost you dearly in the long run. I would call around for prices or search the web for local electronic shops near your area. different prices by towns and states.

My dash lights went out and the cause was a bad alternator. new alternator fixed the problem

Under intake manifold(left side of shortblock).

First remove the negative battery cable. Relieve the fuel pressure from the fuel injection assembly. You must remove the fuel injection assembly to get the coils out. The assembly is anchored to the manifold by 2 screws on each side of the motor. Once you get the screws off you can move the assembly up or away enough to get to the coils. I would remove the wiring from the injectors. (BE CAREFUL NOT TO MIX UP THE WIRES. DO ONE AT A TIME) The coils are anchored to the manifold by one bolt on each coil. (7mm) Gently pull the coil up and disconnect the wires. From there you should be able to put a spark plug socket into the hole and unscrew the plugs.

Does yours have air suspension on it. You may have a leak causing it to sit lower when you are not running. Ford Expeditions with air suspension is designed to lower when parked for easier access.
