you take a 44 mag put it in your mouth and pull the trigger that's the point that im at anyways no honestly remove the heat shield first drop the straps remove the filler hose connection on the drivers side oh and make sure you disconnect the fuel pump under the carpet in the hatch you will need as follows
fourteen mil socket with long extension
ten mil socket
pair of pliers
Phillips screwdriver
safety glasses (lol trust me)
and a jack if you have more than a quarter tank and plan on doing it yourself

Don't. An Rx-7 is a perfectly balanced car with its lightweight, smooth accelerating rotary engine. If you take good care of it, it will take good care of you. If you want to put in a different engine in it, a corvette engine is the only way to go.
Ive had that problem. It seemed to be my intake system wasn't hooked up correctly (bought it with an after market system which was held with duct tape) Check air flow. See if the gate is opening correctly or it could be the airflow meter sensor. This is just a possibility. Good luck

As an Rx7 owner of several of these cars, if your question is why the motor won't crank over at all, usually its a dead battery, bad cables, worn out ignition switch in the steering column. If your question is why it wont start, check fuel pump pressure. These cars eat up the intank fuel pumps, so that is usually the problem. OTT, BOL.
There is two types of Rx-7s that are very rare.
One of them is a FC Rx-7 (1986-1991) called Infini version. Only 600 of these were made each year, 1988, 1989, and 1991. So only 1800 of these exists around the world.
Second is a FD Rx-7 (1992-2002) called Spirit R version.

I don't know where that guy got that information from, but it's pretty wrong if he's talking about fuel efficiency. Wankel engines are quite poor in efficiency, but when compared to inline engines that offer the same performance (powerful V8s) they will have similar fuel efficiencies.

Check the fusible engine link for the engine. If the fusible link is blown (check by swapping with headlight motor fusible link- if headlight motor works, fuse is good).
1. Check gas. If old, drain it. Then add fresh gas to tank.
2. Check fuse to fuel pump.
3. May be bad coil. Take out each spark plug, one at a time... And hold with insulated pliers while assistant cranks car. See if there is ignition spark. Reinstall spark plug. Remove next plug and check next plug. If there is spark, reinstall plug and repeat process with remaining two plugs. If plugs dont spark, you may have bad computer boxes that are
mounted to each distributor.
4. Check also spark plug wires for cracks.
5. Took out refeence to distributor cap, and 88 has dis and only has a crank angle sensor...
6. Check and make sure your spark wires are connected in the proper sequence to the appropriate spark plugs.
7. Consider the turn over speed of the starter. That could be an issue.
8. If your rx7 has sat up for a while, remove air filter cleaner and pour about 8 table spoons of automatic transmission fluid in the carb to allow apex seals to soak for about an hour.
