What is suction and discharge superheat?
Suction superheat is the heat added to the refrigerant above that required to change its state from liquid to vapour (as happens in the evaporator). This heat is added both in the evaporator, in the suction line and (where applicable) in the suction accumulator.
Discharge superheat is suction superheat plus heat of compression, and must be removed in the condenser before condensation, the change of state from vapour to liquid, can occur.

What are the uses of columns in building constructions?
Structural support. However they can also be used for decorative purposes.
Who invented the nutcracker drink?

What is a transition piece in a turbine?
a transition piece provides the connection between support structure and the wind turbine tower.
The transition piece is also a tube. It has a slightly larger diameter than the monopile and can thus be mounted over the monopile.
The transition piece is necessary because of the method used to install the monopile into the sea bed. The structure is hammered into the soil using a bulrush .Because of the bulrush method the monopile cannot have a flange on top for the tower to be mounted on. It would simply be damaged. And more importantly, the method does not guarantee a leveling of the monopile within the normal margins of 0.5 degrees tilt. It is too difficult to keep it perfectly straight when hammering it into the soil.
What better CO2 spring or pump action airguns?
C02 is the easiest to load but is also the least in power. Most C02 will not travel over 600 FPS ( Feet Per second) Spring and pump can attain higher power up to and over 1200 FPS. But these rifles are usually single shot. However the most powerful rifles/pistols are in the PCP class of weapons. These require a bicycle pump or scuba tank to charge them and will fire much larger pellets up to 9MM, 45 Cal and 50 Cal. I suggest a good C02 for a pistol. It's fun and usually you get 40 to 60 shots from a C02 powerlett.
What is the difference between carbon steel fittings and malleable iron fittings?
Malleable iron has been in use for hundreds of years and is a good choice for small castings or castings with thin cross sections. Malleable iron can be bent easily and has very good fracture toughness in colder temperatures. Fittings made from carbon steel are made in a wide variety of sizes with lower carbon steel being easier to bend but having less strength than higher carbon steels.
it allows flow only on one side... the return path (opposite flow ) not possible..
What are the 4 major section of gasTURBINE engine?
compressor, diffuser, combustion section and turbine
This is one of my favorite derivations. Although it would sound a bit intimidating at first, as none of the standard textbooks carry out the derivation in curvilinear coordinates; it is rather easy to obtain. And guess what? the math is quite rewarding!
So we first have to start by selecting a convenient control volume. The idea here is to pick a volume whose sides are parallel per say to the coordinates. For cylindrical coordinates, one may choose the following control volume
Again, as we did in the previous post, we need to account for all the fluid that is accumulating, and flowing through this control volume, namely:
Rate of Accumulation + Rate of Flow In = Rate of Flow Out
First, let's get some basics laid out. The velocity field will be described as
I always prefer to use u, v, and w instead of ur, utheta, and uz to save on subscripts, although the latter nomenclature is a bit more descriptive… we'll get used to it. Now, by construction, the volume of the differential control volume is
while the mass of fluid in the control volume is
The rate of change of mass or accumulation in the control volume is then
For the net flow through the control volume, we deal with it one face at a time. Starting with the r faces, the net inflow is
while the outflow in the r direction is
So that the net flow in the r direction is
Being O(dr^2), the last term in this equation can be dropped so that the net flow on the r faces is
The net flow in the theta direction is slightly easier to compute since the areas of the inflow and outflow faces are the same. At the outset, the net flow in the theta direction is
We now turn our attention to the z direction. The face area is that of a sector of angle d\theta:
then, the inflow at the lower z face is
while the outflow at the upper z face is
Finally, the net flow in the z direction is
Now we can put things together to obtain the continuity equation
dividing by dV and rearranging the r components of the velocity
Voila!

Why do all concrete slabs need rebar?
When the slab is loaded and force applied to it,
the top of the slab directly under the load will be put in compression.
However at the bottom of the slab. the concrete will pull itself in tension.
Put the ends of your fingers together than flex your wrist up.
You will feel the pressure at the top of your fingertips and
you will see a gap open at the bottom.
That is what is happening in a slab.
Concrete is strong in compression, poor in tension.
Rebar, or steel, is the opposite.
By combining the two, you develop a product that is superior
and complimentary to the strengths and weaknesses of the individual materials.
no, drill bits do not have shear strength, so that technique would snap them. An end mill could do the job, or more practically, use a drill press, and plunge cut many holes, causing a slot in the material. Other option is use abrasives. A grinders, a cut off wheel, a carbide grinding bit etc to open the slot up to size
What is an example of a lever?
Crowbars, seesaws, and pry-type bottle openers are all examples of levers.
Assembly.
It's a computer language that, put simply, takes stacks of information and pieces them together.
ASM stands for Assistant stage manager
Who invented the isometric drawing?
First formalized by Professor William Farish (1759-1837), the concept of an isometric had existed in a rough empirical form for centuries.
What is the largest Detroit diesel two stroke engine?
The largest one I have worked on was a v-16, (2 ea. 871 Detroits doweled in tandem with one common crankshaft. I don't remember the horsepower but it was in a 50 ton rated Euclid dumptruck.
im a captian and i ran a 115 footer that had twin v-16s huge and runs forever been accross the Atlantic to Africa with it twice only really minor problems
I believe the largest Detroit Diesel ever produced would have to be the 20v149. It is a V-20, with 149 cubic inches per cylinder. This behemoth is used in mining and other applications.
What is the function of an oil accumulator?
The Accumulators are used with the Hydraulic Oil Skid Units for Expansion Turbines running at Speed of 30,000RPM in Cryogenic Air Separation Plants. The cylindrical unit has a rubber bladder which is having 2 ~3 Bar N2 pressure and oil in surrounding area. During the power tripping when the oil pump trips, accumulator supplies the oil to the bearings till the turbine RPM comes to rest and the bearings are saved.

What is profiling on lathe machine?
Vertical milling machine is for cutting large pieces.
The lathe cutting tool motion is perpendicular to the ground.
They are said to Karosl lathe.
What are examples of good conductors of heat?
In general, metals conduct heat well. Silver, copper, gold and aluminum are among the best. Oddly, carbon in its diamond allotrope is the best conductor of heat we know of.

Why do balloons fly at low altitudes?
Thy are held up by gas that is lighter than air. The hgher you go, the less dense air gets and therefore the less the difference between the gas being used to hold the balloon aloft and the air outside.
They can therefore only go so high.
Also, most balloons are not pressurised therefore the people fying in them would pass out for lack of oxygen if they went much above 10,000feet
Is a bevel gear in a flood gate?
Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on how the assembly is designed. You don't have to use them, but you don't have to avoid them either.
