I believe you are talking about a PCV valve. PCV means Positive Crankcase ventilation.

The black door handle inside is probably broken. Mine was and I replaced it with parts from ebay. Only about $12.00

The 1997 Mercury PCV valve is located on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The PCV valve can be found on the back of the housing.

I believe it is ( 20.8 U.S. gallons )

I believe it has ( 2 ) because the ignition system is EDIS ( Electronic

Distributorless Ignition System ) on the 2002 Mercury Mountaineer V8

Fuse info is usually found under roadside emergency chapter. The fuse is #10 in the fuse box under the hood. It's a 15A fuse. The diagram for fuse numbers is on the lid of the fuse box. This will fix the horn and cruise control if you have it. I just changed mine.

I have the same problem, twice and last time they told me the cds were getting stuck because the CD's that were in there were "see-thru" (like those used to burn music from a computer) and that that was somehow causing the cds to get stuck, they had to get a new CD changer for me last time (of coarse then it was under warranty, now its not)

if you spray the latch inside of your doors with wd40, this should take care of your problem. Over time dirt build up inside causing the signal not to be received by the sensor. hope this help.

You need a special tool. Take it to most businesses that installs radio,s and they should have the tool.

if its the same as mine you don't.its a led light no bulb.i had 2 buy a new power converter for mine,that's what goes out250$grrrr.if your crafty u can change it to a 12 volt light.in order 2 get at it u have 2 take a bunch of stuff off.if u decide on a 12 volt bulb(that's what i did)theres a wire that hooks up 2 the power converter and it carrys the 12 volts,i just spliced some wires on it and put a 12 bulb on it,i drilled a hole in the back side of the brake light assenbly and stuck the bulb up in there and it works fine.i live in Utah and it wont pass inspection unless the 3rd brake light works grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr good luck
