Can someone help you install DSL on a 1g flashdrive on your Windows ME?
If your computer has Windows ME on it, it is NOT capable of USB booting. The DSL wiki has detailed instruction on how to make a bootable DSL flash drive. Basically, you need to:
1. Format your Flash drive with a FAT32 file system.
2. Downloaded the embedded DSL zip file and extract it to the Flash drive/
3. Download and install the Windows version of Syslinux
4. Run the Syslinux program on your Flash drive.

Why authentication required pop up?
In reality this problem have little to do with IIS.
Normally if your website set to allow anonymous access it will not ask visitor for user id and password.
However in some cases I did see this pop up showing it's ugly head.
It could be an issue with file property such as you move files from someone else computer to your web server, or permissions on the web server does not set properly....

Because a computer is useless without it. the only thing your computer can do is run software and the software does everything else.

How do you take a block off a school computer?
If the schools IT guy is worth anything you can't. But keep playing with things to try and figure it out, we love it when kids screw up the computers (note the sarcasm)
It is virtually impossible, which is why most operating systems ask at least once "are you sure you want to shut down?"
The shut down or restart process immediately begins terminating not only visible running programs but also essential processes in the background. If the procedure was aborted, the operating system would be unstable because things it expected to be available - even minor processes - would have closed. This would cause even basic operations to fail.

If clicking the volume icon doesn't work what else do you do to turn up the volume on a computer?
The way to adjust you volume in this case is to go through the Control Panel. To get to the Control Panel you must follow the proceeding steps:
1) Open the Start Menu
2) Click on "Control Panel"
At this point your panel will look one of two ways; either a bunch of thumbnails with names and processes or a list of general subjects.
If the control panel looks like a bunch of thumbnails find the icon that says "Sounds and Audio Devices". From there a little menu should pop up, and the volume control should be right there in the menu.
If the control panel looks like a list select the option that says, "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices". This will change the window of the control panel and allow you to see even more options. At this point you can either select the option "Adjust Volume Settings (if you have XP)" or "Sounds and Audio Devices". Again a little menu should pop up and you can adjust your volume from there.
You have now successfully changed the volume of your computer without using the icon on the system tray.
Can you just select the files and copy to your other hard drive to clone it?
Yes you can. I have done it many times.
A circular file is used to file the burrs of metal but is round all the way round instead of flat.
A circular file is also slang for a trash can.
I have had the same problem, and have gone through hours and hours of computer time trying to fix it.
As far as I can see, there is no fix. Microsoft has a patch that claims to fix it but it doesn't.
Mine happens when I try to close a folder in explorer.exe, especially a desktop shortcut folder.
I use Ghost and rewrite my C drive (all my files are on D drive), every few weeks or so. The error ("referenced memory...could not be "read"") comes back at amazingly consistent intervals after the Ghost restore process, leading me to belive that it is independent of what I do or new programs I install or anything like that.
Nothing seems to work, and it seems Microsoft doesn't know either.
Any help would be appreciated as well.
