Can clarithromycin cause you to have a miscarriage?

Only few studies have investigated wheatear use of clarithromycin during pregnancy is associated with miscarriage. Some animal studies have shown that rabbits and monkeys have increased rates of miscarriage when being exposed to clarithromycin during pregnancy (Biaxin product information). Adrienne Einarson and her colleagues observed in 1998 that women exposed to clarithromycin during pregnancy had a doubling in the risk of having a miscarriage. Recently Jon Andersen and colleagues found a 50 % increase of miscarriage in women exposed to clarithromycin in early pregnancy both compared to untreated and compared to women exposed to antibiotics used in same conditions.

The results indicate an association between clarithromycin and miscarriage.

What should you eat if you just got braces?

Ok it will be fine. I have braces and so does the other people who edited this. ( i (dolphinlover) actually got my bottom ones today after getting my top ones a long time ago)

For the first day (after a couple of hours having them), your braces REALLY hurt when you bite/chew. For the first day/second day you should eat things like:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • yogurt
  • pudding
  • liquids
  • Soft cheese (like feta or cottage)
  • Pasta (slightly overcooked)
  • soft bread (no sourdough)
  • Banana
  • Milkshake
  • ANYTHING SOFT
  • oatmeal
  • eggs
  • cake (that is not 2 hard)

For the whole time you have braces:

  • no gum (only freedent gum.this gum does not affect ur braces! ask ur orthodontist if u don't belive me!)
  • no apples or carrots
  • no popcorn
  • no oranges (trust me. My sis tried not a good look)
  • no gummy worms or swedish fish
  • no hard candy
  • nothing hard and sticky, it is really bad and hard to get out and it's not very cute!

Don't sweat it. Yes, you can have chocolate and other non sticky, chewy, or hard sweets. Just brush your teeth and floss everyday! Brush when you can after you eat and be sure to get ALL of the pieces of food stuck in your braces out cause that ain't attractive. Just be calm, it will be awesome when you get them off if you take care of them. Also, when you get them tightened, it will also hurt so also eat soft foods. Good luck! and when you get them tightened it hurts EVEN 2 eat soft foods! god luck but it's worth the pain for the BEAUTIFUL smile :)!

I have had heavy bleeding with thick red blood and bad cramps for 3 weeks after changing from the combined mini pill over one month ago is this a miscarriage?

Sometimes when you change hormonal contraceptives your body reacts differently and sometimes heavy bleeding is a side effect of this change in hormone levels. Unless you have missed pills, or had a positive pregnancy test I think it is just breakthrough bleeding. The thick red blood could just be your uterine lining shedding heavily as it does every month but since your change in hormone levels this could cause it to shed heavily. Call a doc and see if you can't resolve the issue. I am sorry you have been going through this but often times with hormonal contraceptives you can switch to one that agrees with your body. Good Luck. IF YOU ARE BLEEDING THAT MUCH YOU NEED TO SEE YOUR DR. RIGHT AWAY! YOU SHOULD NOT BE BLEEDING THAT MUCH EVEN IF YOU ARE MISSCARRYING

How true is the following comment cramps in early stages of pregnancy can mean the body is trying to spontaneously abort the feotus Nature's way of fixing things that are not supposed to happen?

Cramps are common and normal in early pregnancy as well as during miscarriage so both can be correct. Miscarriages during the first trimester is usually due to the fetus not being equipped to grow or survive.

Is it possible for the cervix to be open during early pregnancy when you are only 5 weeks and 6 days If yes what causes this and is it a sign of an impending miscarriage?

it is called an incompetent cervix, it can be caused by damaged during a previous birth or a previous surgury on the cervix. and from the cervix bein open it can cause a miscarriage, so that wouldn't happen you would need a cerclage which is a procedure in which the doctor will sew the cervix closed with sutures to reinforce the cervix and prevent it from dilating to early... hopefully this would help you because it sure helped me

What do you tell your family and friends to make them believe you had a miscarriage?

...Oh, I'm so sorry, well tell all the family to come round to the house, or tell them to meet somewhere, and then say it's really important, and your not messing around. Then tell them about the miscarriage.

After a miscarriage what could cause dizziness headaches altered heart rate shortness of breath and hot and cold spells?

If she's severely psychologically effected, these are classic signs of an anxiety attack. Make sure she knows that it's not her fault and that miscarriage happens regularly.

If not, she could be showing symptoms of the underlying condition which may have caused the miscarriage in the first place. It could be an adema or thinning of the blood caused by medication.

In either case, consult with a doctor just to be safe.

How long after a miscarriage do you bleed?

It depends on how long hve u been pregnant.

But mostly it's a week or less.

If u keep bleeding after a week, and it's bright red, you should consult a doctor.

Can you have a period even if your HCG levels are still elevated after a miscarriage?

Yes. This is where timing comes into play. Your first period should be about 28-30 days after the miscarriage - that was my experience anyway.

Bright red spotting light cramps for 24 hours 4 weeks pregnant are you miscarrying?

I would say yes.........I had the same thing 2 days ago........and yes.........I miscarryed.........Sorry and i hope the best......

I miscarried at 6 weeks how long will the bleeding and cramps last?

Of course, every body (as well as every pregnancy and miscarriage) is different. I miscarried at 5w5d and bled (lots of clotting) for 1 week. From what I have heard from other m/c sufferers, that is relatively short, and I credit it to the fact that I was so early on in my pregnancy so I had less internal changes due to hormones and fetal growth.

I am very sorry for your loss.

If you've been on the pill for a year and this month you totally miss the last active pill in the pack get your period then have unprotected sex the day after your period how likely is pregnancy?

Very likely, my sister did this and got pregnant. Well see, I was informed that this is one of the least fertile days of the month and that it would be unlikely? Also, my period is about on a 28 day cycle. I read that the most fertile days would be the 10th day after the onset of your period until the 17th day after the onset of your period.
