Blown cylinder head gasket , water from the cooling system is entering the cylinders via the head gasket thus emitting steam through the exhaust system. Depending on specifics of engine I have repaired this problem several times without prior mechanical knowledge simply by following insttructions in Hayes manuals, do not let garages fool you into the "oh the head will need lathed etc " just ensure that you keep pistons clear of any loose fragments from the old gaskets removal , the Hayes will guide you through this with a sufficient socket extension kit, no prob £50 -60 if you do it 300- 450 if a mechanic does it , for a ! hour job you gotta be kidding!

The loudest exhaust tip is the megaphone style. Though not commonly seen today because of styling changes and they are not in vogue anymore, they can dramatically make certain exhaust louder. They work the same way a musical instrument, (trumpet, tuba, trombone) work. Ever seen a cheerleader use a megaphone? They work off the same principal. Taking the wave length (sound) and tuning it to a amplified level. This may be a oversimplified way of explaining but choose wisely of which you use. Each size and construction can change the sound wave length as well as the structure of the exhaust leading up to it.

Most likely your head gasket is blown, allowing engine coolant to seep into the combustion chamber and as it burns it burns white. Are you loosing engine coolant with no external leaks.. (no puddles on the ground)? If there isn't any external leaks, and the problem persists, then you need to do a compression test leak down test to verify the problem, and repair it immediately, before there is further damage.

You are going to need a good wrench with a long handle and some thread loosener. You need to soak the threads in liquid wrench or a similar lubricant as much as possible. This is necessairy to free the pipe as apposed to just twisting it off. Remember to thoroughly flush the pipe afterword, as some will get inside and you don't want thread loosener in your water supply. You can also use a "cheater bar," a bar or pipe used to extend the wrench handle, to give you more turque. Be carefull with this as you can twist the pipe off, ruining both fittings you are trying to save. Good luck, and hopefully your vocabulary is up to the task.

Mufflers only differ sound, not emissions. Same with a resonator.

Imagine a cylinder with 4 slots around the outside of the cylinder, and then put a cap on the cylinder with corresponding slots so the slots all meet at the top but are kept separate to the cylinder and then you fill the slots with water, you could say you effectively have a "water jacket" around the cylinder. In order to keep the water out of the cylinder, you must have some sort of material to stop the water leaking in. The material is called a gasket. When it no longer seals, you then have a problem. The gasket is inexpensive but to get to it is time consuming and , thus expensive.

Actually, it is normal to see water coming out of a tailpipe. That is merely condensed water vapor as a by-product of the combustion process. Look around on a cold morning and you will see water vapor (white smoke) coming out of most cars. As the car warms up,the exhaust heats up ant the water vapor/water stops coming out of your tailpipe. Unles you smell or see anti-freeze coming out of the tailpipe, dont worry about the water.

This can be caused by a cracked head or blown head gasket.

I assume you mean from the tail pipe. Water is a bi-product of combustion & is expelled with the exhaust. -LubeExpert

possible cylinder head fault or head gasket failer, may be valve or valve stem seal failer, easiest way to find out is do a compression test across all four cylinders.

You have a blown head gasket or cracked head. STOPdriving this vehicle immediately or you will destroy the engine. You must have this repaired.

I think what you are seeing is your muffler leaking condensation from a weep hole. This normal and will stop after your vehicle has reached full operating temperature.

if there is water loss in rediator then the problem is of Head gass kit leakage (bit worring), if no water loss then the problem is of weak rings or leaking valuve seals (Not to worry much).

Black smoke is a sign of an overly rich fuel/air mixture, unlike blue smoke which is a sign of oil burning. Seek professional help.

Engines run by burning gas fumes- fire is hot- exhaust is therefore hot. Hot gases running through metal pipes will make the metal hot. Hence the reason for "Hot, do not touch" stickers on many small engine exhausts.
