How do you replace the water pump on a 1995 Nissan Maxima dohc?

acquire (2) 3" long coarse thread M8 bolts, set aside. remove main belt, belt tensioner pulley, belt tensioner bracket. then remove the timing chain tensioner cover located below-left of the the passenger-side motor mount, and the water pump cover located just below-right of the same motor mount. push the tensioner piston in and lock the piston in place by using a smaill nail, or push pin inserted in the hole.. youll see it. then rotate the engine counter-clockwise 20-30 degrees to free up chain tension on the water pump. Remove the bolts holding in the pump. Now using the 2 M8 bolts, thread them into 2 of the same top and bottom bolt holes evenly to pop out the pump. be sure to keep an eye on the chain as it can hold the pump in and hamper your efforts in getting the pump out. Make sure to lube up the 2 o rings on the new pump real slick, and pop it back in place. installation is the same, only backwards and without the M8 bolts. dont force the pump in... good luck!

Where is the flasher located on a 2000 Nissan Maxima?

Answering my own question to help YOU out. The (black) flasher is located out the right side of the fuse access panel at the driver's left knee, towards the steering wheel. The BLUE item hooked to the fuse area is a relay, NOT the flasher. The flasher is further to the right. You can touch it reaching through the fuse access hole, but you'll never get it out of the mounting bracket without dropping the lower panel of the dash board. To remove the dash panel, remove the two screws at the bottom, then rotate out the top of the panel. It will pop right out. Then you'll see the flasher. I had to pry on the metal slide on flasher bracket to pop the "lock" loose. Look at your new one & the bracket & you'll understand this locking tab.

Where is the PVC valve located on a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville?

I found in a chiltons' manual that the PCV valve for my 96 V6 was located under the MAP sensor. I had to remove the MAP sensor by twisting it CCW. Take care not to loose the O-ring in the sensor housing or the O-ring that fits around the PCV. The map sensor is located under the plastic engine cover.(If you have one)The cover must be removed. If you're at the car's front bumper looking at the engine. The map sensor is sitting to the Left side in front of the altenator. If you look closely in small print you will see "PCV" written on the lip of the sensor housing.

AnswerIf it is like the 1994 Pontiac Bonneville the it is in the front of the motor between the altanator and power steering pump. There is a piece of plastic that had a small square about the size of a quarter inch ratchet. turn this piece and under it is a spring and a round o ring. remove ther two pieces and with needle nose pliers reach in and remove the PCV valve. There is also an o ring on the bottom of the valve.

1998 Nissan Maxima power windows except for driver door just stopped working Any ideas what could be the cause?

Power goes to the drivers door switch and then out to the other switches, so I would look for a bad connection at the drivers switch. Use a 12v circuit tester at the switch area. Also inspect the wires that pass thru the door area as these can get pinched and frayed causing a short.I hope this helps you. Mark

Where do you locate the blower resistor on a 1996 Nissan maxima?

I can't be sure about the maxima but on the Almera the resistor is at the end of the blower motor,2 selftapping screws hold it in place. When you withdraw it it's like a credit card, with parallel copper strips which have resistors in them of poor quality, so they overheat. If like me you have an old car worth very little, you can mend the strips by cleaning back to the copper (I think they have an insulating coating) and bridge any hole you see by soldering a thin copper wire across it. There's no guarantee this will work perfectly but it's better trying than paying £40 for a new resistor board ! It has to be a fine wire and your repair has to be neat, there isn't anough clearance for a thick wire or big blobs of solder ! I now avoid position 3 as it's the one most likely to overheat. If it still doesn't work and you don't want to buy a new board you could try getting one from a scrap yard but go for the latest year possible of your Nissan model, as burnt-out resistor boards are common with older Nissans- the older it is the bigger the risk of it being already burnt out. If there are signs of overheating (holes in the copper strips or sooty spots), don't buy the board, tell them it's no good.

Where is the flasher in a 1991 Nissan Maxima?

I just went through the same hell trying to find it and I did. I own the Chiltons manual and its almost like they forgot to put a picture or location for it in there.

Its under the dash on the drivers side, opposite side of the steering wheel from the fuse box (closer to the radio)

You have to take the one medium sized interior body panel off with all Phillips screws. there is one on the side and 4-6 if you crouch down and look up while kinda leaning with your chest on the drivers seat.

SPECIAL NOTE!!

the flasher in this car (88-91) is very unique and abnormal. Every car I have ever seen uses a similar looking flasher that resembles and Relay. THis car however doesnt. its way larger. it also has a wiring harness coming out of it instead of the 2 or 3 blade style "plug-in" flashers. it doesnt look like your typical flasher. and its more expensive (paid $23.50 on 02/06/06 from the dealer) it uses a single Phillips screw to hold it up.

You cant buy this part at your local NAPA, KRAGEN or auto parts store.. believe me I tried. I had to order it from the dealer (which is an hour away)
