Hi, Ive got an Vectra B 2001 and the normal operating temp is around 90F maybe a little higher when pushing it and 85F on highway cruising.. anything more than 95F is not normal. Oh and Im from Trinidad so the temperature is hot.

Your best bet would be to get the chassis number/model and engine number/year of vehicle and call a dealership who will verify if it has a timing chain or belt. You cant find everything on the net. Sometimes its easier to pick the phone up and call.

Loosen right front wheel lug nuts.
Jack up the right front wheel and remove it
Brace the car with a stand
Undo sump plug with torque wrench
Drain oil
Remove oil filter from right underside wheel arch - replace with new filter
screw sump plug back in.
Put wheel back on.
Lower car to ground.
Refill oil carefully checking level doesn't exceed recommendation on dipstick (about 4.4litres)
Run car for a few minutes.
Check oil again after an hour. Top up if necessary

With great difficulty my friend..
If your mechanically minded and patient then you could do quiet well if you follow my steps as i did mine today.
- Jack up the car on driver side, take off wheel and use secondary jack or something in case one fails.just been a bit safer.
- Engine mount/support arm has to come off 1st and is held by 3 bolts going through a spacer plate which is located smack in centre of timing belt array and one nut at the top but most important to put a secure bottle jack or something under the engine so it don't drop or strain other parts. (also vital for reassembly later)
- now with that arm out of the way and the wheel off your going to see 2 belts coming from the crankshaft pulley at the bottom of the engine to the water pump and alternator (I hope its a diesel model or there ain't much point) email me at goodturn@o2.ie and ill gladly talk you through the rest of it.
