What costume do you wear for ballroom dancing?
Women wear long dress. Men wear tail coats It actually depends on the type of dance you're doing, smooth, standard, latin...there are different costumes for everything. If you're doing something like a foxtrot or a waltz, the dress will be long and flowing, generally with gloves or "floats", but for things like a cha-cha or salsa, the dress is often short, with fringe or something of the like that will accentuate the hip movement of the dance. Men's costumes don't vary too much, but for latin dances, their pants are much more form-fitting than for a smooth dance.

Puppets were not at all like we see today instead, they were crafted from animal hides to have the outline and shape of a person, animal or object. These were known as shadow puppets. They could be performed against a wall with tall moving shadows or, indoors with a bright lantern against the linens much like our movie screens today. Either way, was a treat for families and provided a special bonding time while being educational and traditional.
Today, we continue these teachings and entertainment forms though not nearly as personal as in your living room by your grandparents, instead they are still in your home but performed by professional Puppeteers.
Do you need to have a date for the eighth grade dance?
Absolutely not. 8th grade is a year full of stereotypes and pre-teen drama; which is usually why kids feel nervous about getting a so called date for the 8th grade dance. For my dance, it was mostly about having fun with your friends and celebrating the end of the year together. Just dont worry about crap like that and have fun. You'll most likely remember the memories you have with your friends then being pestered by your "date."
The Ghost Dance was brought about by a Paiute prophet named Wovoka who came to many tribes and told them that he had had a vision. He said that in the vision he saw Indians having a renaissance (rebirth) of the Indians and culture and they would rise against the "white man". He said he also saw the animals, namely their main food source, the buffalo, come back to life. But the biggest part of the Ghost Dance Religion was how in the prophets dream he saw the Indian ancestors, family, friends, and tribe members come back from the grave (Hence "ghost" dance). The vision was based on Christian ideas of God and was readily accepted during a time of great sorrow among the Indians.
This theory spread across some Indian Nations like wild fire. The prophet told them however, that in order to make the dream a reality, they had to dance. So when they danced for long periods with no effect, the religion died down. But a second round of the vision came back to life with basically the same exact aspect from a different man who had the same vision. This man however, turned the dance, into a total religion. He brought different religion teachings into the Ghost Dance Religion(as it was called later). Look up the Ghost Dance Religion. It's really has interesting beginning and ending.
