NO. Termites are a structural problem, and can cause severe structural damage. This is why some mortgage companies require aWIR, (Wood infestation report) on home sales. They are always required on VA loans. This means a licensed exterminator has to inspect and either pass or fail the home on Wood destroying organisms. That can include termites, dry rot, fungus, carpenter ants, and some states such as CA are very strict about this law.

What are alternatives to pesticide use and toxic pest control methods?
cultivation methods (make the plant strong),biological controls (use the bugs force against it), or reproductive controls (cleaning the bugs from there dirt) and finaly pheromones ( the bug will think it is mating and walk into the trap). i hope this has helped :)
No. The average ant can't. Worker ants are wingless.
However, both male ants and the virgin queen ants have wings that allow hem to fly for the mating. Once fertilized, the queen ant bites off her wings and starts the colony. The male ants, having done their duty, die.
So the answer becomes - most can't, but some can and do in the early summer.

How does the use of pesticides affect the environment?
That it controls the populations of organisms and that it may impact other than the targeted organisms, inspire pesticide-resistance, and remain in the environment are ways in which pesticide use affects the environment.
Specifically, a pesticide aims to decrease the number, discourage the presence, or eliminate all members of an organism that is deemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. At the same time, it may be non-specific in its application and therefore will have negative effects on non-target populations, such as possibly beneficial insects, domesticated animals, and people. It may remain in the environment briefly -- but cause a lot of harm despite its brevity -- or long-term -- and result in gradual, protracted damage.
What is the best way to get rid of fleas on a kitten?
Kittens under 8 weeks of age should not be treated with any chemical flea/tick control products. Believe it or not, Dawn dish detergent is the best thing. The surfactants in the soap smother the fleas. Dawn does not kill flea eggs, so it is best to bathe the kitten often until no more fleas are found. Try to leave the soap on the kitten for at least 5-7 minutes. I have done this to many kittens that have been rescued from flea infested areas and after 2 or 3 baths they are flea free until it's time to start the Frontline! Just be careful not to get it on their face or eyes. You will have to manually pick off the fleas that migrate there to avoid the dishsoap. Remember to keep your kitty warm and give him lots of hugs while he warms up!
Does salt kill fleas in your carpet?
It does but there are areas of concern it does not address and a better way with carpets would be to use an aerosol like Precor2000 or an adulticide (concentrate) you mix yourself and spray every inch until damp like a pro does although it would take a couple hours to dry out. Getting all that salt out of your carpet and living with it till you get results would probably not be desirable. The aerosol method has its advantages, you can easily treat soft furniture, the droplets are optimum size for deep penetration in your carpet and it contains a growth regulator in the mix- although it is not cheap.
Do snails or slugs eat rat poison?
I think that the answer is yes. I bought some Mouse poison, pot it under a cover and eventually after a week or so never saw the mice again. Tthe packet said to keep it topped up till the mice stopped eating it. Tthis has been going on for weeks now and I keep finding lots of slugs in the bait, so I can only assume that the slugs are eating the bait

Can you put a little bleach in your dogs drinking water to get rid of fleas?
....I would soak the dog in a warm (not hot) bath with a few drops of lavender and tea tree essential oil, then spritz its fur paying particular attention to under its leg areas and tail area with a home made lemon spray ( recipe below)
Lemon Spritz.
Cut a lemon into quaters and soak it in a jug of boiling water over night.
Next day pour the mixture into a spray bottle .
Cheap, easy, safe and effective....
REMEMBER: you will need to completely and thoroughly clean all the surroundings ...bedding , towels carpets etc.
When you are done with that. Get some flea shampoo and get rid of them. The lemon was a great last meal, but they have no business in your house! The above could be done later to make the dog smell nice.
PLEASE be very careful of your dog's eyes!
Not sure try to combine the alcohol procedure with other home remedies, such as steam cleaning. Hope it will help you.
(RIGHT ANSWER)
YES! I've killed BB w/it, actually it doesn't need to be concentrated. I use 1/4 Rubbing Alcohol and fill the rest w/ water. But if u wanna go full strength it works like crazy. I attached a trigger from a spray bottle on the bottle of alcohol. I've used/use it to kill all types of bugs and it works! Even flies in mid flight!
How do you get rid of spiders in the house?
Use a pesticide "bomb" in the house to kill them. Then buy outdoor pesticides to spray around the houses windows, doors, and foundation to keep them from returning.
I use an item you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot. It's really a mouse trap, it has this really sticky substance on it and when something walks on it, it sticks to it. I don't have mice but I do have a lot of spiders and this thing works great for trapping spiders plus other insects. Just place them around the house, garage etc. and let it do the work. No smelly or unsafe chemicals either.
Buy some clove oil. Sprinkle it under doors, smear around windows. Spiders hate the smell and won't come in. The only downside is your house smells a little bit like a dentist's surgery.
House: Make sure to clean your house every week; don't let food lay around.
Windows: Spiders loves to hang out on window sills. Make sure you keep your windows shut and clean them. If there are spider webs or eggs on the windowsill, spray them with water and suck them up with a vacuum cleaner.
Treat your pets with frountline or advantage, they seem to work the best. Spray your carpets and furniture with an aerosol that contains a IGR (insect growth regulator). This type of spray will kill the adult fleas and also prevent the flea larvae from developing. Any other sprays are a waste of money.
Go to your local veterinary clinic and ask for some flea killer for your animals. Or you could go to Lowes or Wal-mart and buy 7 dust and sprinkle outside your house. It's spelled Flea's by the way.
What is the definition of pesticides mean?
A pest-killer is what a pesticide is.
Specifically, the word is an English noun in its singular form. It originates in the addition of the suffix -cide to the English word pest. The suffix traces back to the Latin noun cida("slayer") from the Latin verb cidere ("to strike down").
Is sniffing or eating moth balls dangerous?
Its dumb! Put it like that.
Extremely dangerous, in some instances fatal. Mothballs consist of 100% Naphthalene or a form of Benzene. Inhalation of vapors causes headaches, respiratory distress, eye irritation and many other symptoms. Ingestion causes toxic poisoning leading to liver damage, respiratory failure, seizures, heart arrhythmia, and the possibility of death.
The chemical in mothballs that gives it that fruity scent is paradichlorobenzene, I'm sure "benzene" sounds familiar. If you're sniffing mothballs because it makes you dizzy, you should stop because the closest thing to a high that paradichlorobenzene can provide is a nasty headache.
Repeated inhalation of fumes or ingestion of a few mothballs can be fatal. Especially, for children, elderly people, pets and indirectly for fetuses.
As stated above the purpose of both chemicals is to kill moths and moth larvae with the fumes. Both naphthalene and paradichlorobenzene sublimate, meaning they transition from a solid state to a gas. The gas is toxic to moths. And to humans under conditions of extended exposure, especially children.
For either of these chemicals to be effective, they need to be placed with the clothing in a sealed container so the fumes can build up and kill the moths. In a sealed atmosphere like that, the fumes are not harmful to people because they are contained.
The main threat to humans occurs when opening the containers, or from wearing clothes immediately after opening (especially a problem for infants). A solution is to open the containers outside and let the clothes hang and air out for a day before wearing.
A lesser threat arises with children who think the mothballs are some kind of candy. The "strange" flavor may halt their attempted eating of them, but guardians should stay alert for the possible symptoms of poisoning. You can contact the National Poison Control Center, 1-800-222-1222.
A less toxic alternative is cedar blocks, shavings or oil. The blocks are expensive, but cedar shavings in the form of hamster bedding can be very inexpensive. Cedar-lined chests and closets do the same job. Again, the clothes container needs to be closed in order for the cedar scent to have a real effect on moths.
Are stink bugs harmful to humans?
They absolutely DO bite. We have a stink bug problem in our home. We have a professional pest control come every month but stink bugs do not respond to the treatment like other pests do. Our bed is near a window where we believe the bugs are crawling in at night (they are drawn to heat, light, and light colors) along with other windows and door frames in our home. Generally, the bugs just crawl around on the walls or buzz around your lights, but at night if one crawls into your bed or into your clothing to get warm, and your roll over to sit down on one, it WILL bite you along with also possibly spraying you. Their spray is stinky, yes, but also can be toxic to your skin if not washed off immediately... especially if you have sensitive skin, it may cause a rash. I currently have 5 bites on just one arm (the arm I tuck under my pillow which is directly next to the window). The welts left from the bites are significantly larger than mosquito bites. The swelling causes a lot of pain and itching in the area. The bite itself may be surrounded by a yellow or orange color in your skin (sort of like an old bruise) or may be red or even brown at times. You may even see a small red spot in the center which would be the puncture mark. I have some red welts as small as a quarter and one near my armpit which I think may be a combination of bite/spray which is about 2" in diameter. The oldest of the 5 bites is still healing (2 weeks later) so be prepared to be treating a stink bug bite for some time. They do not seem to heal as fast as other bug bites I've had.
