How do you destroy a beehive on your roof?

Destroy a Beehive on RoofMost people see a wasp nest and call it a "Bee hive". If you really do have bees, they will make a nest inside some enclosed area. If that's the case, call a beekeeper or exterminator to remove them. The beekeeper may do it for free.

If you have a wasp nest then call an exterminator. If you are feeling brave then use some insecticide spray on them in the evening and be ready to possibly get stung in the process.

If they aren't bothering anything it might be best to leave them alone.

What combination of volts to amps in cattle prod type devices will kill pernicious weeds such as thistles?

No combination of volts to amps in cattle prod type devices kills pernicious weeds such as thistles. Volts and amps are linked by a mathematical principle, known as Ohm's law, that states that V=IR, where V is voltage, I is current (amps) and R is resistance. In general, biological systems -- especially human -- are most dramatically affected by amperage. Any cattle prod type device that delivers sufficient amperage to fry weeds will be as dangerous to the user as to the property.

What are little black sand shaped particles in a window frame which has holes in it?

might be fly poop. If it's a WOOD window frame, with small holes visible in the wood surface and the "black sand shaped particles" are piled up in small areas, then you should consider checking for termites. Termite trailings are usually visible as small piles of particles resembling the size and texture of course beach sand. The color of the trailings will vary depending on the age and type of wood involved. Termites in pine wood will have lighter colored trailings due to pine's lighter shade; in contrast, the termite trailings from a darker wood like walnut or mahogany will be much darker than the pine trailings. Different User Answer As a pest control professional and a termite inspector for the last 4 years I can honestly say that I have never seen termites leave any kind of particles. Termites generally leave only damaged wood and mud behind. They use the mud to build a shelter in which they travel through that keeps them protected from outside elements and helps keep moisture in their bodies. The standard subterranean termite does not leave any black particles that look like sand. Without seeing it it would be hard to say exactly what you have

What do you do if the bug zapper hanging about three feet from the hole has not gotten rid of bugs after several days?

If you are talking about BEES, they are not attracted to the light of a bug zapper. Bees are good for your garden and the flowers in it.

If you MUST move them, call a professional BEE KEEPER, who knows what to do with out harming the bees.

You need to find out first if they are honeybees, and if so, a beekeeper will be happy to take the whole hive free of charge. That would be preferable due to the unknown reasons for colony collapse disorder that is now going on. This sounds like you may have yellowjackets, and if that is what they are, use a pyrethrin based dust in that hole first thing in the morning before the temps get warm. Any reputable pest company will do a free inspection for you to determine if they are yellow jackets, or honeybees. In some states, honeybees are protected.

How do you eliminate bees that go into little holes along the roof of a garage?

kill the bees by slathering honey on your drive-way and spray any bee killer on the honey and they will eat it and die. It is a little risky but when I tried it it worked and plus it saved me a bundle on extermination fees

Can you use expired lice shampoo?

There shouldn't be any adverse effects to you as the user. The fact that it's expired simply means that it will likely be less effective as a lice killer or control.

That said, you probably shouldn't use it. For the simple reason that, like the old adage that says, "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger," the lower efficacy of the expired product may allow some of the lice to, not only survive, but become resistant to the shampoo. Once they become resistant to it, the full strength shampoo will be less effective at controlling the resistant lice as well.

Take the expired shampoo back to your local pharmacy for disposal.

Can someone get lice more than once?

There are high chances that you will get the lice more than once. Most of the anti lice drugs kill the lice but spare the eggs. The lice will return, when the the eggs hatch. So normally you are advised to repeat the application of drug after a gap, usually one week. You can get the reinfestation with lice many times in row from the classmates of your daughter.

Are there fleas in Las Vegas?

I would be hard pressed to say there were no fleas in Las Vegas. After all, there is quite a sizable tourist population at any given time, and anyone that has come in contact with the little critters knows how tough and resilient they are.

But, the desert area in and around Las Vegas is too hot and dry for fleas to survive through the summer. At least the ones that bother pets and people (there are some 2,000[!] varieties of fleas).

What do Bulgaria people eat?

Well, they almost do not eat. Sometimes they do eat whatever they find in forests or grows on trees nearby. I was there once - almost all of them are starving to death!

What do farmers do to reduce the use of pesticides?

Since pesticides are costly to apply needlessly, effective farm managers will "scout" their fields looking for pests which are causing economic damage to the crop. Until the numbers of any given pest are high enough to justify the expense, having crossed the "economic threshold", the farmer won't apply any pesticide. Most farmers also try to manage their crops in such a way that the pest will be suppressed through natural means, such as crop rotation or crop residue management. In the US, farmers also have genetically-modified crops at their disposal, which can help reduce the need for other pesticidal methods.

Who banned DDT?

a series of laws having an ecological basis. They were almost certainly spurred on by pioneer ecologist Rachel Carson ( silent spring) an unusual trick song was done that seemed to start out about an environmental catastrophe, then hopefully, turned to a love affair gone stale that showed some hope of revival! the song was called Green Fields and I believe it was by the New Christy Minstrels. an unusual turn-about song. seems to be about ecology- but is has two meanings. DDT was only applied as a pesticide since about l938.

Are there any alternatives to pesticides?

How do fertilizers and pesticides harm the environment?

The effects of using chemicals on farmland vary considerably according to how much of which chemicals are used. There is also disagreement among experts as to the short and long-term effects of chemical usage. Herbicides used to control weeds can drift on the wind from the plot where they are being applied and effect other plants - such as landscape plants - unintentionally. The "inert" ingredients in some herbicides have been shown to have more toxicity to animals than the "active" ones. Toxicity in this case is measured by what dosage of the chemical is strong enough to kill 50% of the population being tested. Pesticides used against insects and mites can kill beneficial insects (insects that eat pest insects), like lady bugs, aphid lions, and green lacewings. When the beneficial insects are gone, there is no control over the pest insects, so their populations can increase much more quickly after the initial application, requiring further applications to control the original pest. Pesticides can also kill butterflies, moths, spiders and bees, which play other roles in the environment, such as pollinating plants. Pesticides can persist in the insects' bodies, and effect birds or other insectivores which eat the poisoned insects. Other chemicals, such as fertilizers can disrupt the chemistry of the soil, leading to deficiencies of certain microorganisms which play a role in making nutrients in the soil available to plants. Chemical fertilizers also can lead to soil salinization (the soil becomes salty), which requires large amounts of water to leach the salt out of the soil, which in turn can intensify water shortages. Agricultural chemicals can also significantly increase crop yeilds in the short term by limiting damage by pests, competition for water and nutrients from weeds and by providing large amounts of nutrients in a form that is easily available to plants. In the long term these processes can lead to serious depletion of soils because the natural process of converting organic matter to tilth and the balance of microorganisms in the soils has been disrupted.

Why was the use of ddt banned?

DDT is a chemical used as a pesticide.

DDT was first used in the second half of World War 2 to kill insects that spread diseases like malaria and typhus. After the war it was sold and used as a pesticide in homes and in agriculture. The World Health Organization employed DDT in its anti-malaria programs in 1955.

The cumulative effects of DDT on living organisms went unnoticed for a long time, causing damage to a wide range of animals, such as birds (thinner egg shells) and humans (causing cancer). The 1962 book Silent Spring by Rachel Carson referenced indiscriminate chemical use as ultimately catastrophic for the environment.

DDT was eventually banned in the US (for most uses) in 1972. It is still used in some developing countries.

How do DDT got into the water?

DDT from soils is drained to water after rains and floods.

What is the pesticide called DDT?
