In my opinion, removing the front subframe makes this job much easier.

Jack up and suitably support the front of the car so it is in a wheels free state.

With wheels removed;

* Remove the anti-roll bar drop links from the anti-roll bar

* Free off the lower arm ball joints off

* Remove the track rod ends from the swivel hubs

* Remove the nut and bolt and special clip on the lower steering column universal joint * loosen off and disconnect the feed and return pipes to the power ram (beware stinking power steering fluid pouring everywhere!) Steering and suspension wise, the subframe should be free!

* Remove the nut and bolt that secures the lower engine mounting to its bracket (the bolt that goes through the big round rubber mount at the back of the engine) * Disconnect all relevant gear linkage rods (this will be clear when you are under there!) * Support the subframe with a jack or somesuch and free off the 6, 18mm bolts that secure the subframe to the body shell. * remove all subframe mounting bolts. * lower the jack that is supporting the subframe, it should all drop quite nicely and then get stuck on the steering column universal joint! A good old college shove frees this and then you should be able to remove your subframe assembly from under the car. I preferred doing it this way, it takes longer but it is so much easier! It also exposed a lot of potential ball aches on my car, a loose coolant pipe, a knackered exhaust manifold stud, a worn gear linkage rod. The car feels much better for it, I also took the time to paint my antiroll bar bright red. Ahh yeah!

Being able to work on the subframe in a warm garage with a cup of tea on hand was worth the extra time to me!

Disconnect battery for 10 minutes.Re-connect,then turn the key to second position for around 10 seconds. start the engine,and turn all electrical systems on eg, heater,lights, , stereo etc, (this allows the alternator to adjust for max load) run at idle until warm and the cooling fan cuts in. Ecu is now reset

Depends on the model of car. Usually means there is an error or fault. Otherwise it can mean the airbag is turned of on models that have this feature. You should go to a garage and get it looked at. The Manual that came from the manufacturer should give some indicaiton of your problem.

Hi there, I have done this on my 1994 306 - I assume it is the same, you need to drop the lighting panel down ( mine fell out not sure how to do this bit) then you just undo the bolt, remove the connector lift the aerial off from the outside and pop the new one in - its a good idea to clean the paint after removing the old aerial and before you fit the new one to ensure that you get a snug fit, make sure that the seal is intact on the new aerial otherwise it will leak. reconnect the aerial lead, do the bolt back up and pop the lighting back into place. enjoy the radio good luck

Normally located to the right of the steering wheel. It is a numeric keypad.

Some valve cover, or rocker arm covers, have bolts around the outside also. If that is not the issue and you cannot find any more holding it down then it may be stuck. Using a rubber mallet or a regular hammer and a piece of wood, gently tap it loose.

Not normally

It will need a head rebuild at the very least, as this is an interference engine

the valves do meet the pistons when the belt breaks.

Very rarely does piston damage occur.

It may be cheaper to source a second hand cylinder head.

Get a Slim Jim and shimmy it open. Also most car dealerships have a master key to the cars they sell.

heard or who you heard it from.

A Slim-Jim... I've been a locksmith for ten years+ - used a Slim-Jim ONCE.

If you don't know exactly what you are doing, chances are you will make your

situation worse.

Smashing the window does not get a you a lost key.

Call a local, reputable locksmith.

Sounds probable - there are a couple of bleed points around the system. Start the engine when cold and keep bleeding until you get nothing but water.

306 Paint Codes are usually found on or behind the offside suspension strut. Can be painted on or a plastic sticker. Four letters.

jack the car up at the back get under it and at the top on each side there will be a metal plate with 3 nuts in take them out and it will come of

It opens by pulling the handle at left in the drivers foot space.

Should fit pretty much as is, might need to change / up grade mounting bushes/components. don't forget the ecu's tho....

Our car is 1995 Peugeot 306 1.3

It is a 5 minute job, which you can do without any tools:

# Open the bonnet. # Find the small metal lever on top of the headlight (closest to the faulty indicator). # Press down (and hold) the lever, while sliding the indicator unit forward and out. # Pull the wiring plug from the indicator unit. # Rotate the wiring plug (on the unit) counterclockwise, to release it. # The bulb fits on the inside of the plug. # Replace the bulb and repeat steps in reverse order.

If it's pulsing the revs - jumping up a little over idle like you're just touching the throttle - that could be a bad injector not spraying properly and giving you uneven running. Sometimes the revs can jump as high as 1500+rpm, and it's worst when very cold or very hot. Another symptom if it's that would be trouble starting it in the cold, no matter how many times you run the glow plugs.

Not real sure but usually there is a draincock (little thing with a hole in it and a little two sided handle on it at the bottom of the radiator on one side or the other that you turn counterclockwise to drain the water/coolant. Remove the radiator cap first,as this lets it drain faster and make sure the engine is cool!! Dont forget to to close the draincock before you fill with coolant/water.

I suggest you open the bonnet and look at the front of the engine below the exhaust manifold, it's very easy to see.
