a giant flaming bird
A phoenix is a great fiery red bird with sparkling eyes. When it becomes old it burns, then a new Phoenix is born from the ashes. Its tears have healing powers, and it will help all those loyal to its master.
It has colourfull plumage with a tail of gold or scarlet. In some mythological stories the tail can be green, blue or purple. It is a bird of great beauty and can live over 500 years in the wilderness
A phoenix looks like a flight-worthy peacock with around 3 to 7 large tail feathers like the eye shaped ones on a peacock. It also has fire coloured plumage (Bright reds, oranges and yellows) and is usually seen on fire.

The mythical phoenix sets fire to itself because that is it's own way of dying. When humans die we can die from many different reasons, but the phoenix sets fire to itself when it knows it is old and weak then it comes back to life as a new healthy phoenix. The phoenix continues this cycle of life for ever.
if it gets stricked by lightning it will scream and die
A werewolf's prey is small mammals, birds, deer, cattle and really anything with blood in it, and sometimes, but rarely they attack humans.
Since both are mythologic creatures, we can not be sure. Someone from the Chinese culture would most likely say the dragon is more powerful, and vice versa. There are many types of Dragons also, some more powerful then others. I simply used the Chinese dragon as and example. In my opinion Dragons seem more powerful. They raze villages and are usually shown as having magic. The phoenix as far as I am concerned Is never mentioned destroying things like the Dragon is often doing.
the phoenix is a sign of peace an it can be reborned through its ashes
The phoenix is more powerful because :
1.Not so common (really there are 1000 or more types of dragons ).There is just 1 TRUE Phoenix.
2.Can revive/reborn ....
3.Is made out of FLAMES so the dragon's fire will do no harm to the phoenix.
4.Mystical
5.Nicer name
6.u tell more
The Dragon is more powerful Physical.
The Phoenix is more powerful Magical.
So it matters if you mean Physical, or Magical.
Dragons can live for thousands of years, can teach people, communicate through our minds, and Eternal Dragons are even wiser and do not die unless killed. Dragons dislike violence but if they decide to fight they can breathe fire (or ice/mist, depending on type), attack with their horns, their tails, can fly, and can probably do a lot of mental destruction.
Dragons are more powerful, skill and wisdom wise.
The phoenix of myth and legend is known best for regenerating itself from its own ashes.
It represents immortality, idealism or hope. It is a person or thing that can be restored after a calamity
The story is about a magical and ancient Bird, Phoenix, full of beauty but because some materialistic people want to earn more money, they force the poor bird to fire itself in order for the new bird come to existence that happened but the fire killed all those people around.
Phoenix, in ancient Egypt and in Classical antiquity, is a fabulous bird associated with the worship of the sun. The Egyptian phoenix was said to be as large as an eagle, with brilliant scarlet and gold plumage and a melodious cry.
Phoenix are born and when they die they turn to ash. A new baby phoenix is born from the ash. People consider that its just renewing itself, not really dying.
I do not know its antithesis, but there are two possibilities. One is the peacock, which symbolizes the same things the phoenix does (the sun and the moon (the cosmos); life, death, and rebirth), but the peacock symbolizes vanity, whereas the phoenix does not, at least not to my knowledge. The other is the dragon, though the dragon represents the emperor and the phoenix represents the empress, representing the yin/yang, even though the dragon is a more sinister symbol in most cases, but despite this, the dragon and phoenix are both blissful lovers and mortal enemies. Now, if you want the inversion, it might possibly be the peacock, not the dragon (since the dragon is mostly the antithesis of the griffin or elephant). Another potentiality might be the vulture, but I do not know,

A group of Phoenixes is not commonly referred to with a specific term as they are typically depicted as solitary creatures in mythology. A young Phoenix is sometimes referred to as a Phoenix chick.
