From what I was told, from the guy at the auto store, you can't. You have to replace the entire bracket.

There are two methods available. You can purchase a fluid pump that will do the job without removing the cover. Run the vehicle for a few miles to warm the fluid. Remove the fill plug....it'll take a 3/8" drive ratchet. Insert the correct tube from the pump into the hole enough to reach the bottom of the diff. Pump out all fluid. You can refill with the pump. It's full when you can insert a finger into the fill hole and touch fluid.

The other method is to remove the rear cover from the diff. I prefer this anyway as I am able to get a look at the rear and see if there is any odd wear or a lot of metal shavings in it. Make sure to install a new gasket. RTV black also works well and is used by many manufacturers instead of an actual gasket. Just make sure both surfaces are completely clean and dry. Refill as above. If it's a posi diff don't forget to use the special additive available at any parts store.

make sure your radiator is clean and no problems first, otherwise you will be throwing away $250 for the new heater core. Pontiacs are notorious "GM's" for having a plastic intake manifold gasket that leaks, which then mixes oil with the radiator fluid and produces this nifty orange rusty looking sludge, which then proceeds to clog your heater core -- so make sure the rest of your system works before trying to replace your heater core. www.autozone.com has free online car manuals that will help with the replacement location, hoses etc of the heater core

Up inside dash on drivers side to the left of steering column. Pull bottom panel off and look to the left of steering column. You will see a holder that will have a round silver relay and then a black square one. The square one is the one that you want.

I just pulled mine and it is in the drivers side kick panel not the steeering wheel panel. The earlier like 1992 was there.

How do yo fix a stuck driver side electric window on a 1998 pontiac firebird.

You can find the 1995 Pontiac Firebird 3.4 liter engine IAT sensor on the back of your engine. The IAT sensor will be a few inches above the transmission.

Remove the air filter and the intake elbow. There will be a vacuum line that connets to it comming from the distributor, this needs to be removed from the elbow. Next you will see the water pump with hoses going to it. There is a hose going to a kind of round housing bolted to the water pump. This is the housing to the thermostat. Get some towels to catch the coolant that will come out. Unbolt the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat. Make sure you angle the hose up to reduce the coolant comming out. Remove all of the residue from the old thermostat and put the new one in its place. Bolt the housing back on and reattach the intake. Don't forget to reattach the vaccum line. Run the engine and bleed off the coolant. Readd coolant as necessary.

Most likely culprit is that one or more of the (very fine) wires that make up the defrost matrix on the rear window itself are broken. The entire unit needs to be replaced. They sell the kits at JCWhitney.com or you can have a pro install it for six times the price. Another alternative is the wire connector on the side of the window that attaches to the unit. If you live in a cold area that tends to get corroded as well.

There are many ways to increase the 455 horsepower. With a cam/valve train swap and working over the heads (or replacing with aftermarket) you can be in the 500+ range. "Pontiac High Performance" is a great source for information on engine modifications.

Turn the ignition on in the car and hold down the trip reset button on the dash for about 10 seconds, the change oil light may blink a few times but then go out. All done!

For the regular base model Firebird or Firebird with T-Top with the V6-3.4ltr. L32 Engine. Look under the hood, passenger side of engine. The EGR is right behind the Alternator. It sits on top of a big pipe (EGR Adapter) that comes straight up from the Exhaust Manifold and the whole assembly looks tower-like. It also has a triangle shaped wire connector on top and a smaller pipe (EGR Pipe) coming out of the side of it and ending up going into the Intake Plenum (the big "U" shaped thing on top of the motor).

The Formula and TRANS AM both have a different EGR.

I don't know how it works but sometimes it happens the same with mine, i have the remote and even if you lock it and unlock it again the security light is still on, i normally wait and some hours later it goes back to normality yesterday i just got mad and switch the key like 3 or four times quickly and then it started!. I had the same problem with mine. i also had a camero with similar problem. the issue is with the chip in your key making good connection in ignition, you'll probably need whole new ignition cylinder thing

I have a 94 Firebird and on the bottom of the shifter knob there is a "U" shaped clip. You will have to shift into L1 to see it since it is on the front of the knob. Once you pull out the clip, it slides off and you can replace it with whatever kind you wnat but make sure the "push to shift" function is on the new knob.

This is kind of a tricky one. I didn't do it with an Edelbrock carb.....it was a Holley. But here's some things to try. I bought a universal drop chrome air cleaner that would clear the Holley fuel bowls. I cut the bottom out of the original air cleaner base, leaving about 1/2" around the edge. I then cut the universal one to fit in it, just til it overlaps the original. You can weld or pop rivet the two together. Do some measuring. Make sure you get the height you need for the shaker to fit. You may or may not need a drop style air cleaner. When done, all your shaker parts still function and fit as original. Good luck.

There is no Big block or small block in Pontiacs. They were the same size. "67 did have the 400 and 400 HO available for the Firebird.
