Why does the Fan not blow very hard on heater in your 2001 Pontiac Montana?
I had this problem, there was very little air output from the heater even when on high. I tried a few mechanics for answers with no success. One day I was looking for something in the glove box and I found an access panel in the back of the glove box marked "filter access". I opened it and found there was a paper filter in a frame that filtered all the incoming air from the heater to the cabin, and it had never been changed. It was almost totally clogged up.
Replaced it ad bingo, lo0s of air. I asked my mechanic and he said "oh yeah, that thing, I forgot about that". It's not even mentioned in the owner's manual that I could see.
What are the windshield wiper sizes for a 2000-2004 Pontiac Montana?
The 2000-2004 Pontiac Montana takes 24" replacement windshield wiper blades on both sides front and a 16" rear wiper blade. Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.
Where is the drain for radiator on a 2002 Pontiac Montana?
on the driver side ...reach ya hand up under and you should feel a butterfly type bolt.
Where is the radiator drain plug for a 2003 Pontiac Montana?
I just changed mine, so I can tell you exactly where it is without guessing. It is located on the driver's side, bottom rear corner of the left side radiator tank. It is a plastic plug with a keyed end enabling you to turn. If it has not been opened, might require pliars. It was easiest to reach mine by laying down on ground, left side, facing or looking forward in front of car. Reach arm into wheel well, around frame(my hand is not too large), feel around. Turn slowly when opening for the first time, it is sticky and you don't want to break. I just got rid of that Dex-Cool in time. I suggest everyone do the same.
More than one thing can cause this. The most recent one i repaired was the coolant temp. sensor for the computer. You will need a scanner to check its output to the computer. If it does not show a cool enough temp.,the computer will not send extra fuel to serve as a choke and it will die at an idle or run rough until it is warmed up. Hope this helps
How do you replace brake pads on a 2000 Pontiac Montana?
you need to remove the front wheels then locate and remove the two bolts holding the caliper in place.once you do this you might have to pry on the caliper a little to get it to come off, once it comes off then remove the brake pads one at a time making sure to note which one has the ware sensor on it.once you remove the pads then you will need to squeeze the caliper piston back in, i have found that the easiest way to do this is to use a big"c" clamp.after you get the piston back in then you can put the new pads in. then just do the reverse to put it back together.
You could check the blower filters. I had a similar problem and the filters were filled with leaves and other dirt and debris. They are located behind the plastic door in back of the glove box. When you pop off the plastic cover, you have to push in and slide out. There is more than one in there.

Where is a heater thermostat located on a 1999 Pontiac Montana?
The thermostat is blocked by the intake manifold. It's not an easy job and most likely your are trying to fix a temperature gauge the fluctuates. If that's true then you need head gaskets. The 3400 motor is known for them going and the first indications is the temp varying and missing coolant that has not leaked on the ground.

How do you remove the water pump on a 2002 Pontiac Montana?
If it has a 3.4 liter engine in it, the water pump is bolted on the passenger side, front of the engine, it has a pulley that is completely smooth on it, with 4 bolts. the bolts are not very hard to remove. once you take the bolts out of the pulley, it should pop off, but might have some rust around the center and you may have to gently pry it off. There are obvious steps i skipped, like Removing the belt, she shield over the water pump and draining the coolant.
How do you disconnect the 3 fuel lines on a 1999 Pontiac Montana van?
If your doing this near the gas tank, say to replace the fuel sending unit, there is a special tool that makes this a few seconds job instead of a tedious and most often, breaking the clips job. The tool is cheap, universal, and are available at any parts store for around $10. With this tool you just put the plastic sleeve around the fuel line, push it in and the clip will come out as easy as unplugging an extension cord. Buy the tool without it you better be patient and prepared to buy the parts your going to break.
How do you replace back up sensor in 2003 Pontiac Montana?
You have to partially remove and pull back the plastic outer bumper skin to access the sensor, depending on which one( which bumper sensor) needs to be replaced. There are reusable push pins located along the top horizontal surface, and bottom edges of the plastic bumper. You will need to remove a nut and 1 or two Phillips screw at the edge of the wheel well to free up the bumper. Once the bumper is pulled away, you will have access to the back of the sensor. Unplug the electrical connector and using a mini slotted screw driver you should see a tab on each side of the sensor that will need to either pried lightly or pushed in to remove the sensor. Be VERY careful with this stage. If you break any portion of the black plastic mounts you CANNOT purchase them separately from GM!!! Use extreme caution and take your time! Also, you can test the individual sensors while the vehicle is in reverse and ignition and back up console switch turned on, by using an engine stethoscope or a thin, long screwdriver. Gently touch the blade of the screwdriver on the head (outside exposed round painted part of the sensor) and listening with the handle portion to your ear. You will hear a very light clicking sound if the sensor is working. Also check the wiring that comes off the back of the sensor as they are common to corrode.
