It is possible to drive with a bad power steering pump. However, this is not a good idea because the wheel won't turn as it should.

If you pull the bolt next to the oil dipstick out of the power steering unit it will give you plenty of slack to get the belt off.

The power steering box is on the right side behind the motor close to the finder wall. Get a flash light and look behind the motor and don't try to reach it while the motor is hot.

It is either your axels or your cv joints. Not an important repair but it is annoying

Doesn't the C5 have the full Citroen Hydraulic suspension system? If so I'd expect the power steering system to be part of that, so it isn't topped up separately but fed from the main system for which you must use the genuine Citroen mineral-based stuff or a trusted alternative, because any of the "Conventional" types will ruin your fluid.

Check the "rack and pinion" assembly. You probably have a bad internal seal.

The most common cause of a vehicle squealing when it is cold outside is a belt. The belt could need tightening or replaced. You can buy a product at the auto parts store that may help.

Well, since the Mazda B-series IS the Ford Ranger, as long as you were swapping from the same year, you shouldn't have an issue.

You can bypass the power steering pump pulley in your 1993 Buick regal 3.8 liter engine. Measure the distance around the other pulleys, without the power steering pump pulley. Take the measurement to your local auto-parts stores and ask for a belt of that measurement.

Check the belt tension. If that's okay, check for binding in the hoses. At this point, it has plenty of fluid, the belt is tight, and the hoses look good. Now jack up the front of the car, remembering to set the parking brake and chock the rear tires. Look at your suspension for a seized tie rod, ball joint, or a bent steering rack. No problems? Look at the front tire tread. Any unusual wear pattern? Have the front end aligned, and your problem should be solved.

If your car is equiped with power steering, the reservior is located in the engine bay on the drivers side. It is attached to the engine where the belts run.

Any auto parts store will have power steering fluid on the shelf.. You can also pull it up on the internet or ask the parts counter person to look it up for you.

Check to see where leak originates could be: Leaking pump seal Leaking high or low pressure hose Could be steering rack
