What effect did willaim Shakespeare have on the Renaissance?

Shakespeare contributed immensely to the Renaissance. During this era of philosophical and intellectual revolution, medieval authorities would castigate any person who outspokenly challenged conservative issues. For example, Giordiano Bruno was burned at the stake for challenging Ptolemaic (geocentric) models of the solar system.

In order to voice revolutionary issues, philosophers, writers, and artists would hide messages in the public media. Shakespeare hid his accolades for a Copernican helio-centric model in Hamlet, and also illustrated the struggles of a heir-less throne during the end of Elizabeth I's reign using Richard II as a medium.

Also, Shakespeare voiced the problems of current monarchies, geographical zealotry, and pre-renaissance patriarchy through his plays. HE WAS NOT JUST A GUY WHO WROTE SOME PLAYS. He was a revolutionary who disseminated the issues of the Renaissance through an entertaining medium.

How did the black death change Europe?

The Black Death changed Europe in many different ways. Some of its biggest effects were on religion, art, and class.

New religious sects sprang up because of the Black Death. The Flagellants, for instance arose out of the misery of the Black Death. The Flagellants believed that the Plague was a punishment from God, and that the only way to return to His good graces was to imitate Jesus' suffering. So they want from town to town, whipping themselves, and praying for mercy. Other people abandoned religion altogethe, since God had not intervened to save the faithful, while others embraced faith even more deeply, believing that piousness would eventually save them.

European art also drastically changed. Before the Plague, art had largely centered on religious themes, depicting Jesus and the saints. During and after the Plague, topics shifted to more worldly things, and were largely much darker and dealt with the death that surrounded people. Personifications of Death became popular, and decay was an abundantly portrayed theme.

Class structure in Europe also underwent a heavy change due to the Black Death. A majority of the population died out, resulting in a labor shortage. As people sought to fill that shortage, they could no longer be as selective, so after being hired, people could demand higher wages, because there was no one else left to fill the job if they got fire. This resulted in a shift away from serfdom in most of Europe, as well as upwards mobility among the surviving lower classes of Europe.

How might the black death have changed the way people viewed the world?

Because the plague seemed to come from no explicable source, most people believed it to be a judgment on them from God. Many joined abbeys or other cults for the purpose of mortification of their own flesh (to mirror that of Jesus Christ) in order to appease God or make themselves more worthy of Him.

They became, quite naturally, much more focused on the deaths surrounding them and their own approaching mortality. Some came to blame foreigners for the plague and this strengthened the ethnocentricity of the British.
