I had the same problem, depends on what you need, we bought a new key from Ebay (around �40) and just moved the part we needed (battery reader) from that key to my original key. Apparantly the microchip and blade can be moved across, though you have to be careful not to damage it in the process.

2 possibles: 1:The engine was not timed correctly when the timing belt was replaced 2: An ignition lead left disconnected when the timing belt cover was replaced.

hi my kangoo had the same problem and it may indicate that that your brake pads need replacing.Thats what it was on mine anyway. hope this was of some help to you

The only headlight relay I can find is for the Clio II from 1998 onwards This is in the fascia relay box, relay no8 This controls the low beam with the daylight running lamps.

The Renault Clio, year 2002, has a timing belt.

I believe some have timing chains but i ain't sure which.

For a Right hand drive, depending on age..... 53+ reg (scenic 2), on the left side inside the car, early shape (Scenic 1) its on the drivers side on the pedal assembly

In my '00 Renault megane scenic, the chassis number is located under the spare tire.

If you can't find it there, there's a sticker in the bottom of the B pillar on the right side of the car, that contains several numbers. The chassis number is the one that start by VF . The B pillar is the one between the front and back door. To be able to see the sticker, you have to open the right front door.

You can't top up the auto fluid, it's what Renault call a sealed unit, but I do believe it can be done by a Renault agent because it's very difficult and needs specialized equipment.

The battery of a Renault Master Van sits underneath a cover in the cab floor.

Prise off inside black cover opposite wing mirror inside the door gently with a screw driver, inside you will find three 10mm threaded bolts holding on the wing mirror. One of these bolts is covered with a small grommit. You will also have to unplug the connection for the electrics on the wing mirror to release the mirror fully.

your best option is to put car in garage.you will need special tools.also get cam belt changed while its in.hope this helps.steve

seven hours of labour at £39 per hour is what I was charged at my local garage to change the clutch in our Renault Scenic. Comments anyone?

Not sure if this applies for all models but this was the procedure for replacing a 2001 (y reg) megane (not scenic) wiper motor which burnt out. It is VERY easy. [Additional note 2010: Have used notes below to do successfully. Grafted a 'P' reg version on to a '51' plate. My '51' version had four wires and a shorter motor body, the older version had five wires but colour coding allows you to connect correct four - I used a 'choc' connectors. All functions work after fitting]

Remove the plastic cover over the battery at the bottom of the windscreen if battery not fitted in engine compartment. Two small screws at one end and one in the centre, then pull it out while sliding it a little to the centre. Its only held in by plastic clips so dont be shy.

Disconnect positive and negative wires then remove the battery (removal not required if battery in main engine compartment but still disconnect), this gets you access to the motor. (13mm positive terminal nut, 8mm negative, 6mm battery securing bolt)

Unplug the motor connector.

Make a point of noting the orientation of the brass coloured metal arm which attaches on to the shaft of the pump so it can go back on roughly in the same place. Standing at the bumper looking at mine it was pointing at approximately 4 o'clock.

Unscrew the nut (13mm) on the shaft (hold the arm to stop it moving while you turn the spanner, this can be done with securing the arm with an adjustable wrench). Pull the brass arm off and move it to one side to give you access to the 3 pump housing bolts (10mm). Mine rotated around a bit while unscrewing the nut. Not a problem so long as you remember which direction the arm needs to be turned back to on refitting.

Remove the housing bolts and the motor can be removed.

Putting it back in is the reverse. Check the connectors are the same for the new and replacement pumps as there are several different types with different metal contacts.
