Robots are controlled by computers. They can certainly process numbers and make calculations. As for understanding, that depends on what you mean by understand. Robots with speech recognition systems can understand spoken numbers subject to the limits of the system. Robots use artificial intelligence techniques to "think". Nobody knows for sure what the limits of AI may be.

Some of them do. The technical requirements for a robot walking were difficult to overcome until computers got to be as fast and as small as they are. The current limitation is in power storage; it's tough to make batteries big enough and powerful enough to make a robot operate for a long time.

no.because some scientist do make robots .robots do exist they don't make them as u see them on tv they make them to do certain things they actually exist.

The same way that a Remote Control device can control, for instance, a TV. There needs to be at least a transmitter at one end and an equivalent receiver at the other end, or a suitable combination of both, for effective control/communication to occur. you could get infra-red kits that interface to your computer through one of the available ports (Serial, parallel, USB, P/S2, etc.) and have a wireless component that could be embedded within your "robot"'s electronics, thus giving you a connectivity between the computer and robot.

A touch pad screen and hardware sensor return the screen coordinates of where it has been touched.

Using the touch screen simply means that the software has been written in such a way as to make some kind of logical sense out of the coordinates.

i have been looking to do this for awhile for a project, using the timer to start when i press the limit switch and for the time to stop when it reaches the sonar senor. I don't think its possible. But if u figure out a way let me.

there is no exact answer to that you would have to do it all by yourself but what i would do is program the color sensor to start moving randomly- wich will somewhat look like dancing- which will probably fix your problem but i will warn you it is hard i just finished programing mine and it does work the thing is that making the program is time consuming

Yes if the battery can deliver enough current for enough time to be useful. You would connect the motors in parallel. If for example each motor required 1 amp and you had a 30 aHr (amp hour) battery the motors could run for about 10 hours.
