How do you fix the steering lock on a 2001 Saturn L200?

That depends on what's wrong with the steering lock; there are several parts in the mechanism.

Removing the steering wheel is the most hazardous; the air bag can discharge, causing serious injury, not to mention the fact that they are expensive.

Once the steering wheel is out of the way, make certain that the locking pin is working properly, often it's just an issue of lubrication and you don't really need any parts.

But the overwhelming majority of steering wheel lock problems are related to the lock mechanism binding up because the wheel is pulling to the side. You should be able to move the steering wheel a tiny amount if you work at it. Try turning the key as you move the wheel. Often that's all it takes.

How do you remove and replace an engine in a Saturn L-series car?

These cars have European engines in them and every screw has to be torqued right or before you know it some seals are leaking and there goes the head gasket!!! not to mention the various electrical components, however, the 4 cylinder is the easier of the two, but I would only do it as a last resort, and would recommend paying somebody (a liscensed mechanic - preferably saturn- though expensive) to do it, because in the long run you will screw something up!!!

2001 Saturn L200 series has wet spot on driver's side carpet even when it hasn't rained. What could be the cause?

I have the same issue, I found that it is the heater core or the tubing to it leaking. It only leaks in the winter and doesn't fog the windows up, I haven't taken it apart to see where the leak is, but some stop leak seemed to have fixed the problem. however temporary this may be I'll need to take the kick panels off and actually see where the leak is coming from.

Your 1999 Saturn's service engine soon light stays on all the time how can you have this fixed?

The check engine light comes on to tell you some part of your engine system is not functioning as it should. Soem large auto stores like AutoZone offer free diagnostics. There is a computer outlet or plug in port under the dash of yoru car. A scanning tool, handheld programmer will be plugged in to that port and it will download the codes inside the computer on your car. Once this data is downloaded, it will give a code number which will have to be crosschecked to see what the code means. Your car's check engine light will remain on until this fault is fixed. Sometimes a check engine light will come on and then go out. Did you recently add fuel to your car? Make sure you screw the gas cap on tight, otherwise the check engine light will come on due to the pressure of the fuel not being what is required. Tightening the gas cap will not immediately shut off the check engine light. Normally the computer will monitor the engine and after 50 miles or a certain number of cycles it will shut off the check engine light. If your gas cap is tight and the check engine light stays on, then you are in need of diagnostics.

How do you remove a 2001 Saturn LS-200 rear brake drum?

Removing a brake drum can be a bit tricky. There should be a few rubber plugs on the Anchor side of the brake drum. You can gain access to the anchor side from underneath the car.

Remove the rubber plug. Look inside this small hole with a flashlight. You should see a star-wheel like object, and a small lever that touches it. With the appropriate tools, a rear brake spoon and a small screwdriver, or a medium sized screwdriver and a small one, back the star-wheel off to release the tension of the rear shoes, on the rear drum.

Then, you will have to hit the rear drum with a hammer to knock it loose.

PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE THE CAR WELL SECURED ON PROPER JACK STANDS BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO HIT IT PRETTY HARD IN A FEW SPOTS AND IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS.

How do you remove a rotor from a 2002 Saturn l200?

(Front tires only)

  1. Jack up the side you wish to change.
  2. Remove the lugs and the tire.
  3. Remove the brake housing from the rotor.
(put a stool or box in the back of the wheel well to hold the brake housing up so it does not pull on the brake lines)
  4. If the rotor does not come loose by itself, use a mallet or small hammer to tap around most of the outside until it does.
  5. Remove rotor and replace with new one.

Is torque converter somthing exspensive to replace on 2000 Saturn LS?

The torque converter is between the engine and transmission, meaning, that if you want to replace the torque converter, you will need to either remove the engine or transmission or both.

There is typically a standard shop fee for removing and replacing the engine, typically a few hundred dollars.

Most transmission shops will tell you that it's not a good idea to just replace the torque converter; they don't typically represent the only point of failure in an automatic transmission, and if there has been wear on the torque converter shaft, it's typically because the bearing has worn and there has been inadequate transmission maintenance.

A worn torque converter typically corresponds to a worn hydraulic pump which will result in low pressure, and weak shifting control. If the hydraulic pressure is low, clutches will not be held in place firmly, allowing a little slipping of the clutches and excessive wear.

The bottom line is, you probably won't get out replacing just a torque converter. But if you do, a replacement torque converter will be another couple hundred dollars beyond R&R the engine/transmission.

What is the process in bleeding the brakes on a 1992 Acura Legend LS?

Generally you start at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder and work your way closer, like right rear, left rear, right front, left front. However, I have seen certain cars that require a different proceedure, yours may be one of them Also, if your car has anti-lock brakes it can get more complicated. In any case, I usually ask somebody to sit in the drivers seat and pump the brake pedal a couple times and then hold it down with slight pressure while I open the bleeder and close it. 3 or 4 times for each wheel, or until all the air bubbles are gone. Please check for the manufacturers recommended procedures buy purchasing a repair or service manual.
