How many motor mounts are there on a 2002 Saturn SL?

I believe there are two: one upper and one lower. There is also a transmission mount. The lower one on my 94 rotted, (dry and wet rot), and I was able to replace the rubber part and save the metal housing that surrounds it. On my 2002 I am not so sure it is the same yet. I plan to replace it soon. I think it is gone because I get a lot of vibration from my engine.

What makes the air conditioner blow hot when you stop at a traffic light in your 98 Saturn sl2?

It's possible that the compressor just isn't moving enough refrigerant through the AC when you're sitting at the light, or possibly the radiator fan isn't working properly and you're not getting enough air across the condenser coils.

How do you change the heating and ac blower motor in a 1998 Saturn SL2?

I posted the question, and found the answer, so I thought I would help anyone out who was curious. The heating and a/c blower motor is located behind the glove box. There are 4 plastic snaps that you have to undo to get the glove compartment to come down, and you will see the housing for the blower motor to the back. It looks round and is held together by 3 screws. A black and purple wire come from the dash to the housing to power the motor. Just remove the wires, undo the 3 screws (the one in the back is pretty tedious) and the motor drops out. Hint: In order to ensure that it is the blower motor and not just a bad connection, put a voltmeter on the wires coming down from the dash to make sure that there is power going through them. If not, then you know it isn't the blower motor and don't need to waste time getting the motor out. If you get voltage from it, but nothing is happening when you try to kick the fans on, then more than likely it is a dead motor. I replaced mine for about $50 part cost. If you feel confident enough, save the labor and additional cost of taking it somewhere and do it on your own. Thanks.

How do you to replace the head gasket on 1998 Saturn sl1?

The S series SOHC motor very rarely blows head gaskets, but they do have an issue with the head cracking. Oil in coolant = a cracked head 99% of the time on the 1.9 SOHC motors. You may be able to see it if you pull the valve cover and look at the base of the 4th cam journal on the front side of the car, if there is a shiney spot in all the dark aluminum you just found the crack. There is a casting flaw in the heads. Clearwater cylinder heads is the best and most reputable place to get a new head.
