How can you disable thefh deterrent system?
Standard O/E spec Theft Deterrent Systems such as those found on GM vehicles are controlled by the Keyless Entry System remote. However, most commands are vehicle specific.
For instance, on a 2005-up Chevrolet Equinox (a.k.a. Pontiac Torrent, Saturn Vue), the theft deterrent system can either be deactivated totally, set to passive, or active modes.
1. To set the alarm to inactive - Turn the ignition to ACC, and press the panic button (5) five consecutive times until you hear the chime through the stereo. Once you hear the chime you can either:
A: Press the UNLOCK button to deactivate. (Never arms)
B: Press the LOCK button once (1) to set to active. (On when remote locks car)

How can you replace the fan control switch on a Saturn Vue?
You can't, unless you have a very powerful space shuttle that can take you to Saturn. Even then, the anti-gravity atmosphere makes it impossible to breathe, and you would most likely get crushed by the vacuum (lack of air) before you could replace the "fan control switch."

You need to drain the radiator, remove the right engine mount, take the serpentine belt off (if this is a V6 3.0) the water pump will be in the center of the block remove and replace with new one, make sure the gasket (o-ring) is in the correct position before mounting... Reinstall in reverse...
Saturn vue 03 cooling fan consistantly running?
The on-board computer senses a problem with the engine. A general fault condition is registered which keeps the cooling fan running regardless of temperature until the code can be cleared from the computer.
The general fault code means the problem is not deterministic. It happened on my 03 Vue after a slight hesitation under moderate load (going uphill with the A/C on). My mechanic replaced both fuel pumps (not cheap), and the problem was reduced but not eliminated completely.
To keep the problem from occurring too frequently:
(1) Do not buy cheap gas, (use Chevron, Shell, Mobil, 76, etc.)
(2) Do not run your tank empty
(3) Add a few gallons of 89 octane to every fill up
Mechanics charge a fee to hook up a computer and clear the code. You can do this yourself and save a few bucks by disconnecting the battery cable for a few minutes. Sometimes I need to pull the fuse (relay?) in the fuse box marked "main cooling fan".
The persistent cooling fan problem on my 03 Vue is quite intermittent - it happens to me only twice a year.
Why do the brake rotors become warped on your 2006 Saturn 6-cyl VUE after about 6000 miles?
Rotors warp when they overheat. Perhaps you're riding the brakes, have a sticking caliper or are going downhill a lot and are overheating the brakes that way. Often pulling a trailer will overheat the brakes, especially if the trailer does not have electric brakes.
If none of the above seem to apply to your situation, perhaps someone put cheaper rotors on the vehicle; some of the import rotors look the same but they warp quite easily. Also not torquing the lug nuts correctly can warp the rotors. If the lug nuts are put on too tight the rotors will warp on some vehicles.

its on the top right side of the engine beside the intake manifold. it has a large black plastic hex fitting on top that take a special filter cartridge socket to fit the hex. found one at pepboys where all of the oil wrenches are located.
How do you replace manifold on 2004 Saturn?
Depends on which one, there is an intake manifold and an exhaust manifold.
The intake(normally aspirated)- you have to remove the air intake tube, throttle body, disconnect sensor, injector wires/vacuum hoses. Disconnect the fuel line to fuel rail, then you can unbolt the intake manifold.
The exhaust manifold- is a little hard being against the firewall, you would have to disconnect the O2 sensor wires and exhaust pipe. I would spray the exhaust studs with penetrating lube. The upper nuts you should be able to get from the top, the bottom nuts you will need to get to from under the vehicle with a swivel and extentions.

Daytime Running Lamps are automatic if you have the car turned on, in gear, the parking brake off and the ambient light is bright enough to not trigger the automatic switch. If however the car is on, it's in gear, the parking brake is off and the ambient light is bright and the day time running lamps are still off then you may need to just turn your headlights off. If that doesn't fix it, you may have a bad resistor, a burnt out light, a burnt out fuse or bad wiring. The first three are easy to fix. The last is not.
Can you rebuild the transmission on a 2003 Saturn Vue?
not on the 4 cylinder model, this is not a typical transmission like the one found in most vehicles. this is a special cvt transmission that resembles that of a snow mobile and works with bands and belts. i would not advise to purchase nor try to repair one of these vehicles. if you can somehow contact a saturn rep, saturn will cover half of the cost of the repairs if the vehicle has under 100k miles.
Horn won't work on 2002 Saturn vue?
My horn does not work either. My 2002 has 64000 miles so it shocked me when I bought it and the horn did not work. Get someone under the hood while you press the horn. If it clicks then it works. The horn is behind the right headlight. Remove the headlight and replace the horn. If you know how you can check the voltage to make sure it is connected properly. I had to but then I had front end damage and I did not trust the repair shop to have it connected.

With a 3/8 drive ratchet. It is located at the front of the Motor just crawl under the front of the vue and look up. It is a canister type filter.
