Saturn Vue

The Saturn manual does not recommend conventional chains or cable due to tight clearances between the tire and front suspension. The Spider chains recommended by Saturn are over priced at $400 Plus. So I took some measurements and the clearances are tight. I purchase some $40 Cobra Cable chains made by Quality Chain, Hillsboro, OR for 235/60/17 tires that came with the Vue. Auto Zone selected the cables on the computer and recommended a set of cable tightners for $5. I installed the cables and tightners and check the clearances. The cable to Strut has 1" clear and the top of tire to underside of the strut spring support plate is only 1/2". So I drove it on dry asphault up to 20 MPH and had no noise. I believe cables will work well, if you keep your speed down and decrease it if you hear any metal to metal noise.

For a 2006 Saturn Vue 6 cylinder, it is recommended to use 5W-30 viscosity oil. This oil helps to ensure proper lubrication and protection for the engine in varying temperatures. Be sure to consult your owner's manual for the most accurate information.

I don't know about the 3.5L, but on the 2003 Saturn Vue 2.4L and the 3.0L, it's in the fuel filter. You can get the fuel filter for the 2.4L at any auto parts house, around $70.00. The 3.0L fuel filter/regulator, is a dealer item.

I'm working on a car with the same problem. From what I've read, this is a common problem amongst the VUE's c.2002 - In fact, there is a Technical Service Bulletin about this very problem which indicates that it is a problem with the Throttle Body and/or Throttle Position Sensor and relevant wiring harness. You should be able to find this T.S.B. online somewhere for free or just call your local dealer. As a side note, the 2002 VUE has about 192 T.S.B.s currently which is a bit above normal for a car of this age. Hope it helps! Cheers, Z. You should go to a Saturn dealership. They will cut the keys on site and program the chip with your VIN #. Replacement keys cut at a hardware store, Walmart, etc. won't work due to the chip located in the original key. I just got 2 made and they (the dealership) charged $7.50 per key. Go any place that cuts keys, hardware store,walmart,auto parts store. They will use the keys you have to cut new one .

On a 2003 Saturn Vue with a 2.2-liter engine, the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve is located on the valve cover. It is typically found near the back of the engine, connected to a rubber hose that leads to the intake manifold. To access it, you may need to remove some components for better visibility.

The thermostat is located below the intake plenum assembly, on the passenger side. I believe you can see a part of the thermo from the pass side. It is a labor intensive process to replace it, hence the ~$300 repair quote from dealership. A lot of engine components have to come off to get to the thermo. The trickiest part of the replacement is finding the tool to undo the hose clips that hold the rubber on the plenum. These clips are called clic-R collar hose clamps. Remove the drain plug and drain the fluid into an approved container. Refill with automatic transmission fluid. Yes, automatic transmission fluid in a manual. Dextron III or higher. Take's roughly four quarts.

On the front passenger side interior of the car, where the passenger's left foot would be, there's a plastic panel there that is attached to the main center console. Pull it off: it's held by a velcro type thing. You should see 2 pipes: those pipes connect to the heater core. There are 2 plastic clips: 1 on each pipe. unclip each clip. Make sure ALL radiator fluid is flushed and have PLENTY of towels and/or a drip pan inside the car. Be careful not to damage those pipes as they are aluminum. Pull the pipes down out of the core; it will get messy. Pull the core right out and replace. Do not lose the rubber gaskets and the plastic gaskets! Installation is reverse of removal. Good luck!

The starter on the 2002 Saturn vue is located on the front underside of the engine, follow the positive(red) cable from the battery and it should connect to the solenoid which is part of the starter.

Front of engine, right side as you're facing engine. It's about a foot down and sits upright in a black case with a spin-on top. You'll need a big socket to remove the top and the old filter will pull out.

I seem to remember the fuse located on the left side where the passenger sits. If you are looking at the radio, down and to the right a panel should pop off. Check all the fuses there, even if you don't know which is which. The inside of the panel should give a chart, too.

The axle nut will need to be removed. You will want to do that as the first step unless you have an air gun that can pull the nut off. From there the brakes will need to come off. hen look on the inside of the steering knuckle. There will be three bolts. These are what holds the bearing in, apart from rust. Remove the bolts and the bearing will come out, in theory. It may be rusted in place and fight you out.

I just changed the motor/regulator on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee this morning. It took me about 1 1/2 hours total. I bought the general repair manual for the car at auto zone and it had step by step instructions for removing the door panel, removing the glass window, and for replacing the motor. it was about 7 bolts total to remove the motor/regulator assembly, and two pins to pop out with a flat head screw driver in order to dis lodge the window from its mechanism/lift arm. I am by no means a mechanic and know very little about repair, but this repair was easy. I recommend you buy that book at any auto parts store and there will be your answer.

Yes. While looking at the engine from the front of the vehicle, look under the radiator hose slightly to the right and about 1/3 down on the motor. It will have a yellow top, and a little locking lever. You either need skinny arms or something to reach with, as it's hard to get to.

try it and see what happens it cant hurt. Try Fuel Injector Cleaner, (add to a full tank every 5k miles)

Also your oxygen sensor could be going (replace every 30k miles)

Bad spark wires can cause it too (check and/or replace every 30k miles)

You can also improve your mileage by keeping your tires at the proper rated pressure. (I check mine every week.)

There are two knock sensors on the 3.0

The location depends on which year model you have. Best found from underneath.

On the 2002 and 2003, one is on the front of the engine block and the other on the rear. Look underneath the exhaust manifold.

The trouble codes refer to #1 and #2. My guess is that the front one is #1.
