If the engine is 49 cc or smaller, then it is a scooter. If the engine is larger, for example 60 cc, then it is a small motorcycle. Anything above 50 cc is no longer a scooter. This is a legal definition that has to do with which category a motor vehicle on two wheels belongs to. In most people's minds, however, a motorcycle with a 100 cc engine is considered a small bike. This is because motorcycle producers have steadily been producing bigger engines over the years. In 1966, the Honda CB 450 was considered a motorcycle with a large engine. Now, a 450 cc is just medium sized.

Ski-doos are usually more performance sleds, they are usually the first to try out new designs and that is why their snowmobiles look so weird compared to the standard design that pretty much all polaris snowmobiles look like. That being said, polaris are usually more reliable, and are much easier to find parts for. The standard polaris design that has been in place since like 1996 works fairly well and is good for a nice trail snowmobile. I myself prefer polaris over ski-doo because of the reliability issue. The newer ones may be better, i cannot say because I have never ridden one newer than 2000.

First you need to drain the gear lube from the drive unit.

Remove the lower and upper drain & vent screws and let all the oil drain.

Next, use either a 5/16" or a 3/8" Allen wrench and remove the anode from above the prop.

Now look up where the adone was mounted and you will see a hidden screw. Remove this screw with a 5/16" Allen wrench.

Now use a 5/8" deep socke and remove the two nuts from under the ventilation/cavitaion plate.

Remove the front nut at the very front of the drive with a 5/8" wrench.

Now use a 5/8" open ended wrench and unthread the two side nuts until they reach and touch the housing. One nut at a time unthread each nut and allow the nuts to push on the housing to aid in separating the housings.

Eventually you will get a space between the two housings in which you can GENTLY pry the housings apart.

Check your float in the carburetor it sounds like it is stuck open.

i would say nitro cause with nitro you just have to refuel to keep going and you don't have to worry about your battery running out of charge or having to remember to recharge and stuff like that, also they hit much higher top speeds

well Im doing the same thing now..myspace.com/cjosiah, but Im using all the ninja wiring including lights etc. but to run the bare engine, you have to take apart the entire wire harness, and only run the oil pres. wire, radiator temp wire, fan controle, distributors, and trans. temp wires to to the control boxes they connect to, and don't forget the starter relay. but yeah its self explanatory once you remove all the black tape, youll see the important wires....if you don't have the original wires and control boxes get a distributor that can control 2 spark plugs from Napa and use some trial and error to get them to fire at the right times...... my email is volksracing1@AOL.com that's also my AIM screen name

Yes, you can, but you need to put a resistance in series with the battery to limit the maximum current, so you don't overheat and cook the battery.

I tend to fast charge my batteries using a 12v light bulb / utility light to lower the current. The bulb will glow when the battery is taking heavy current, and as the battery builds up charge, the current will drop and the bulb will get dimmer and dimmer.

I try to limit the current to 1/10 of the capacity of the battery Im charging if I can.

Otherwise, I monitor it with an ammeter and voltmeter and watch the lightbulb.
