I don't recall right off what the recommended range of compression is for a 15hp Briggs, but 120lbs is certainly sufficient to start and run th engine. If its a 4 stroke it will be around 10.0:1 10-28-08 Right-o, 120 is great. Briggs no longer releases comp ranges, but states a minimum of 60 to run. Depending on model, that's probably a 7:1 or 7.5:1 engine. Briggs are designed w/low comp ratios for durability, resistance to detonation, and low fuel-grade requirements.

take the nose plastic off disconnect the wires going to the top off the carb , and the wires coming out of the thumb throttle then looking at the front of the the bike on the right there is a small silver box with the same kind of plug in as the ones you already unplugged unplug that box and put the bike back together .

The valves should adjusted to the following specifications: .005 - .007 in. for the intake valve and .009 - .011 in. for the exhaust valve. The valve gap is measured with the piston 1/4" past the TDC on the power stroke.

On most of those engines it is 1in" But it could also be 7/8"

Engine vacuum will be affected by valve adjustment due to vacuum leakage

when valves are not closed at the proper time, when the piston is on a downward stroke. The vacuum would be less that it should be.

What you describe MAY be part of the EGR valve assembly. I'd need to know more about what pipe is broken, where it is and what it does before I could give any more of a guess.

I recommend every 1500 miles or seasonal. Mobile 1 75/90w synthethic gear oil is considered an excellent choice by some and widely available.

Somebody had a hot rod in the late sixties that was called the Screamin" Demon, which poetically describes the Banshee sound-effect. There was a girl in my neighborhood who fit the description. Dad and I used to joke about the car being the ( Babs M ( I won"t mention her last name) special!

Banshee in old Irish mean 'washer woman' and in old Ireland there use to be lots of women who did laundry. Now there is the story (in Ireland) that if you come across an old washer woman crying and wailing away as she washes clothes you may discover that she is washing your clothes and mourning your death.
