Where is the oil filter located on a 1991 Subaru Justy?
The 1991 Subaru oil filter is located on the left-hand side of the engine. The oil filter will be near the area that the oil pan meets the engine.
I have been told it is because of the Oxygen Sensor .... if you look in the manualit states 'check engine' is related to the electrics. hope this helps

Why would your 1993 Subaru start and then idle up and down rapidly and then die?
idle air control valve needs to be cleaned or replaced....or a vacuum leak....or any other component that runs the idle.
not sure about subaru my Nissan needs 5 diffrent compenents working properly to idle correctly........first get a can of carb cleaner and spray all the engine if u can keep it running long enough...then spray all ur vaccum hoses if the engine smooths out then its a vaccum leak. if its impossible take a flash light check all ur vaccum hoses if u find nothing and ur certain its not a vaccum leak. find a forum there are tons should have DIY on how to clean iacv...if its common they will provide several answers and directions on how to do it
Where is the valve to flush out the radiator on a 1985 subaru GL wagon and how do you get to it?
The valve you're referring to is the radiator petcock. If yours is equipped with one, it will be 2-3 inches from the bottom of the radiator. It looks like a bolt sticking out of the radiator. Remove this and your coolant will drain away. If not, just remove the lower radiator hose and proceed that way. *Remember when flushing out your cooling system, in order to do a complete flush, you must flush in the opposite direction of internal radiator flow. For a down flow radiator (metal fins run vertically), flush from the bottom up, with the cap in place allowing all the coolant and sludge to exit from the upper radiator hose until clear water comes out(best with radiator removed). In order to flush out your engine block, disconnect the radiator upper and lower hoses and remove thermostat and reinstall thermostat housing. Attach water hose to upper radiator hose and flush engine until clean water flows out of the lower radiator hose.
Why does Subaru make high pitched whistle sound after turn the engine off?
I had the same problem for a while. At first we thought it was my A/C compressor clutch going bad. After a complete search we found out that it was actually my alternator belt tensioner that was bad. This is an easy fix, and only costs about $150 (includes labor costs)
What year did Subaru come to the us?
In 1975, my 1974 Datsun B-210's warranty had JUST run out when the transmission went bad. I had a friend who managed a rental company in Honolulu and asked her about the cheapest thing they had to use for a few weeks while I repaired the Datsun. She said they had JUST gotten in a new make/model of economy car and I could use one of them at a very low price. It was a little car no one had ever heard of called a "Subaru". The wierd thing about it was that it had Front Wheel Drive, which everyone I knew laughed about at the time - something about being so cheap, they couldn't afford a longer driveshaft. However, once I was driving it I noted something: The car pulled itself around turns, instead of pushed. And the turns were always under control, not the wild rear end sliding turns I had been used to. Back then the build quality of the body was pretty bad - ultra thin easily dented metal and not much soundproofing. But I could tell the car had a lot of potential. It's just grown better and more expensive ever since. My introduction to Front Wheel Drive and a little car called Subaru...1975...38 years ago.
What can be done about an uncomfortable headrest in a Subaru?
So many new cars have horribly uncomfortable headrests, that force your head into a forward position that's painful. I can't stand the Toyotas & Honda's especially, which is so sad because everything else is great! Sometimes you can turn the headrest around to face the back, but often it's too far back then, and you can't adjust it back and forth.
Maybe buy a fancy alternative car seat like a Recarro (sp?), or swap it out with an older model headrest. For me, I'm just driving an older model VW, which has a nice adjustable headrest.
P.S. No amount of pillows or towels has solved this problem for me.
What happens when the thermostat fails?
When the thermostat in your car fails it usually fails to open which in turn does not allow radiator water to pass through the engine and cool it, so the engine over heats.
What are the symptoms of a bad Subaru thermostat?
One of the most common signs of a bad thermostat in a Subaru is the vehicle overheats. This is a sign that something is not working right with the thermostat. You may need a new one, or you may be able to repair the issue.
