Is it possible to turn off the traction control in your vauxhall vectra 2.2 sri?
Hi there I had the same problem traction control kept kicking in on my 2.6 v6 sri vectra b when i really could have done without it in the snow. I overcome this by taking No. 35 (10amp fuse) out from under the steering wheel. This made a lot of difference as I managed to get my car home where as I couldn't beforehand. Though this is also the fuse for the ABS so be careful as this I presume will also be disabled. Hope this helps Jim
It means that the antispin has been activated
Are the auto and manual engines the same?
As long as the engine is the same size, manual or auto transmissions should bolt up properly. If the vehicle has different engine options, make sure they are the same engines or else they will not bolt up.
That's the simple and basic answer... Going from one to the other isn't simple plug and play. Manual transmissions are simple, require gear oil, no cooling for the oil, no independent ecu, and usually different length of a drive shaft or CV axles (rear or front wheel drive). An automatic require automatic tranny oil specific to the make's requirements, hooks up to the radiator to cool the oil, and an independent ecu. Wiring is also different along the engine's wiring harness. Also, The alternator's wiring harness maybe affected. Relays maybe required aswell.
Can a manual and auto tranny be changed/switched? Yes
Is it practical? Absolutely not! There is alot to it that just a bolt on. Auto to Manual is easier, but you will need hydrolic lines for the clutch.

How much does it cost too get your head gasket done on a 1997 1.8 vectra?
For a basic change of a failed head gasket, reckon on about
first of all you run the diagnostic scans ; then reset all of the errors codes , in most cases the wheels sensors caused this errors ,sometimes cleaning this sensor well resolve the problem , else , check the dot3 brakes oil level because Low level of oil well cues the same problem in other hand you must out the air from the brakes and add brakes oil , finally the abs controller system can cues this problem you can change it or fix

Does a 2004 vauxhall vectra 1.9 cdti have timing belt or chaine?
it has a timing belt. VX state it should be changed at 100,000 miles but 60,000 is safer. Get the water pump changed at the same time as these tend to go after being disturbed in the belt change. expect to pay about £250 from an independent garage.
Vauxhall vectra power steering problems?
Yes i have a steering problem with a SRI V6 Vectra that is on 1999V. Its a strange issue where the tracing changes on its own. If you go around a left turn quite hard the steering will be straight. If you go around a right turn sharp then the steering will be half a turn out. When the steering is out the car still drives fine with no wobbles and doesnt pull anywhere. Have all the track rod ends etc checked, seems ok! Anyone got any ideas? Thanks Jay
How do you replace a Vauxhall Vectra cam belt?
Loosen the wheel nuts drivers side front wheel, jack up the front of the car and place it on axle stands and remove the wheel, remove the plastic inner wheel arch (just the piece to the right not all of it,its in two sections you want the small section removed) open the bonnet, place a trolley jack under the sump of the engine using a piece of wood between the jack and the sump and just take the weight of the engine, remove the front stabiliser arm from the front of the engine, locate the aux belt tensioner and using a 15mm spanner turn the tensioner clockwise to relive the tension on the belt and slip it off the alternator pulley, make a note of the direction of the belt and its layout on the pulleys, remove the timing belt cover, remove the spark plug cover on the top of the engine and remove number 1 spark plug, using a socket turn the engine using the cranckshaft pulley bolt until number 1 piston is at TDC (if you use a long screw driver in the hole where number 1 spark was you will see it rise as you turn the engine) check that the two marks on the camshaft sprockets and the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley line up,you will now need something to stop the camshafts moving when you slip the belt off, this is called a locking tool buy 1 it will save you money, place the tool between the camshaft sprockets it will be tight so tap it home gently, looking at the layout make a drawing of this, you now need an allen key and spanner, place the allen key in the belt tensioner and hold it in the position its in and slacken off the tensioner enough so the belt can be slipped off the sprockets(its better to buy a timing belt kit and replace tensioner and both belt pulleys),once the belt is off replacement is a reversal, replace the water pump as well when refitting the belt have the writing or any marks on the belt facing the direction of rotation which is clockwise, use the water pump to take any slack off the belt it makes it a bit easier when using the tensioner.I think that covers it.
