The engine number for a 1997 Holden Vectra is on top of the engine itself. it is engraved into the metal of the engine.

depending on the engine size it is about 4.5 litres of 10w40 , i would recomend a least a semi-synthetic oil , as this leaves a nice coating on the internal parts of the engine and reduces wear and damage when engine is cold

Possible causes could include:

Failed air-con on/off switch.

Wiring fault.

Compressor clutch fault.

Blown fuse.

No gas in system.

the clutch on the compressor has a fuse and it was blown.

i soldered across the fuse and the clutch is now working.

also if there is not enough gas the clutch will not engage as well.

First you have to remove the cover and take out the fused bulb or LED. Then install a new one and repeat the first step in reverse order.

As a standard, any front wheel drive car uses ATF lubricant or better known as Automatic Transmission Fluid to lubricate it's gearbox, you can recognise it by its colour witch is deep red, an opel/vauxhall corsa/astra 1.7d/1.7di/1.7dti/1.7cdti uses ATF II, you can normally get this at any gas station and/or car spare shop, if you are not good with technical stuff its recommended that you take your car to the nearest GM service station to get the "cranny" filled up as filling is quit tricky. over filling will cause to much preasure on the gaskets/seals witch means that the gearbox will blow a gasket, oil will start leaking from the area where the gasket is damaged, evetually the gearbox will leak so much oil that the gearbox will run dry damaging the scyncro mesh, selectors, links and gears to such an extent that youd have to replace the gearbox witch can be a costly matter!

fix the problem causing them and than have to take it to shop so they can reset it with their scanning tool,

Check Hanbrake, Brake fluid level and Clutch fluid level. It could be any of the three.

should be 1 on left hand corner of dashboard in corner of window!

If you have a vectra B its on the panel in the drivers door a black sticker with white writing

it means the car is ready for a service/ My vectra displays a oil can and spanner when a service is due, if you cannot afford a survive do the following:

place keys in ignition but don't turn on, press the button that zeros the miles on the dash and hold it in, place foot on brake and also hold it down, turn ignition on but do not start engine, count to five and release button and pedal, turn ignition off then on again and the service light should havd gone out.

When i get a spanner and car come up it says there is an electrical fault.

the solonoid is probably malfunctioning, you can push it back by accessing through the rear light cluster back panel. you do need small hands it can be removed or disconnected through this panel

it means that your anti lock brake system needs to be check

SXi has an 'X', where as the SRi has an 'R'

If you just have a false signal,it may be cured by disconnecting the battery earth lead for a minute.(Have your radio code handy)Refit the battery and the lamp should go off.If not you may have an actual problem which a garage will need to diagnose and possibly reset with a computer link.

my was falt in drivers seat belt but there are heaps of other things that can bring this problem up

If you mean the starter solenoid,it is the smaller round housing fastened to the starter itself.

just by the drivers knee there is a little box for putting bits in, this box is held in by four quarter turn screws, once released this box will come out to expose the fuse box, at the bottom of the fuse box is a clip which when released will allow the fuse box to swing down.

Depending on the year,cc & fuel type Corsa's coolant capacity (total) varies from 4.3-6.1 Litres

vectra b 2.0 dtl / dth, and the same for 2.2 do not require a timing belt change as they are chain driven , however the tensioner requires checking after 150,000

The front panelling comes off in one piece and will need two people to support it.Release the inner wing protection panels both sides for access to fasteners. There are in the arches and underbonnet area,six bolts and six clips which you need to ease the centre pin out of to relax the "rawlplug"type outer body. Two bolts each side hold the brake disc ventilators on,then undo one wiring harness plug and a pipe to the headlamp washers and you have it. The actual "bumper"or impact limiter behind the panel, is just held with nuts and bolts each end if you need it off.

can you change the injector tubes and seals without removing the cylinder head on a 1.7 cdti Vauxhall combi and is it much of a job

You need to buy a Star Bit Set (Torx) I think its T30 at the rear of sump it was on my 05 eco 1L David

About 4.5 liters.
