It's unlikely that a web cam will do the job for you. Most webcams have only a USB connection. This is great for a computer interface but it doesn't carry an analog video signal on the connector. The display screen in the car will almost certainly have an analog video input rather than a USB port that will handle digital video. Even if the stereo system in the car has a USB port, you might want to check that it will recognize and accept a video device. Most are designed for audio replay from MP3 players or flash drives. Many of them simply won't be designed to handle video. If the display has a composite video input (normally just marked as video with an RCA socket) the simplest option is to find a small camera head and lens. These are often small cubes about 1" x 1" by 1/2" and will run on 12 volts. They are very low cost, easy to mount and will have a composite video output. The "home page" of a web browser can be set to virtually any URL. There are millions and millions of pages on the internet, any of which could be set as a home page.

Because web developers are too lazy to develop for anything else. PS: Have you tried Chrome, Safari or FireFox? They will probably work just as well, if not better than Internet Explorer.

If requested file is in webserver and if the type of file is HTML simply it returns the HTML coding in the form of headers to user browser.

If the requested file is in server side programing language file(servlet and jsp) just execute and return the result in the form of HTML with headers.

1. Open a terminal.

you may also want to entertain the idea of using VLC media player as it is a very nice and verbose option for playing these and more types of files.

There are browsers like Lynx that are text only browsers and hence do not support images. They are pretty good for analyzing site content by overlooking graphics.

In case you don't want to view the images on you browser you can block the images. To do this go to Tools -> Options -> Content -> untick the load images automatically check box.
