How did NJ help the war effort of the US world War1?
During World War I, New Jersey was the home to much shipbuilding activity, as well as refineries and important ammunition factories. Some existing factories, such as the Singer sewing machine company, converted to make weapon parts. After discovering some German chemical secrets, New Jersey became one of the largest chemical producers in the world; some of the companies are still there today.
Camp Merritt and Fort Dix were notable training sites; after the war, Fort Dix became a "demobilization center," where thousands of men were processed out of the military.
First shots of the war.
Lincoln had declared that he would hold the Union garrison on the tiny island of Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbour.
The Confederate artillery fired on it, and it surrendered.
Lincoln reacted by calling for 75,000 volunteer troops.
The war was officially on.
The Eastern Front had trenches like the Western Front, but it was so large that the fighting was more mobilised, especially in Ukraine. German Uhlans and Ukranian/Russian cavalry were able to move around and fight each other.
Is a large collection of letters home from a veteran in World War 2 valuable?
YES! That would be very rare indeed and of genuine historical value. There are no doubt historians, libraries and museums that would give their eye teeth to have the original letters. I would suggest contacting a history professor at the nearest college to ask how to go about getting them published. You might also want to investigate the new "on demand" publishers. You have to pay them a fee, but it is modest, and then they make your book available on Amazon.com and places like that and print up copies for anybody who buys one. Michael Montagne
It is without doubt that such a collection would be of considerable value either to an academic institution or to a private collector. If your interest is merely money, I would suggest that you attempt to contact a private collector as they are more likely to pay a greater amount than a public or eductional institution.
As an alternative, could I suggest placing the letters on display in your own home? It may be possible to obtain a government grant to set up such a private museum.

Why did the American people support the injustices perpetrated on Indian people by the government?
Being Noble & Just & Humane
& Simply Fair in your everyday affairs;
Requires an Undisclosed, Stupendous amount of Superior Moral Effort.
The Default Setting for most people;
When faced with an ambiguous,
or unseen, Ethical Quandary, is Benign Indifference.
Also: Proximity is Reality.
This means that things that happen physically close to you,
Are more real than things far away-
Or if the principle actors in an event that you hear about are 'Like You'-
Then their happiness or suffering results in a greater adulation, sympathy or empathy for them.
People whose suffering or injustice occurs far away,
or They are of a different race or culture than yourself,
or If Their plight is of a kind that you have never experienced-
They; And their Misery are simply 'Unimaginable' to you.
In a very real sense; Their reality & adversity,
Require from you; The same attention that you'd give to a nightmare.
When you first experience it; It is quite traumatic; But it is then quickly forgotten.

What did Charles schenck do after his conviction?
Charles Schenck was an official of the Socialist Party in Philadelphia in the early 20th century. In 1917, he was arrested for distributing and attempting to distribute literature urging young men to resist the WW1 draft, calling military conscription a form of slavery. He was convicted under the Espionage Act of 1917 and challenged the constitutionality of the act in the US Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision written by Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, declared the Espionage Act constitutional and created the first exception to the First Amendment Free Speech Clause in US history. Justice Holmes stated that Schenck's actions created a "clear and present danger" to national security, and compared the protest to "shouting 'fire' in a crowded theater."
