What is SRS light on on a 2002 CRV?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

SRS is the suplemental restraint system, if its on it means there is something wrong with either a sensor or an airbag itself. You should bring it in to a mechanic and have it checked to be sure, or if your use to driving older model cars without an airbag system you can go without this feature.

SRS light on 1989 Mercedes 300SE?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It means Supplemental Restraint System....or airbag in common terms. If the light remains on, my guess is that the system no longer works. It would cost about $2K to replace. Those cars are so safe, the seatbelt/shoulder harness should hold you in just fine.

Why is your 1992 diamante srs light on?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

On my '92 Diamante LS, I've noticed that the SRS light turns on when the battery's low on power. It could just be a massive coincidence, but I'd have the battery and alternator checked. If that doesn't solve your problem, have the airbag system checked -- that's one system you do not want failing.

What do you do if the SRS light will not go out?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I have a 2003 Honda Odyssey and have had the car in 4 times with the SRS light on--every time their computer says to replace the passenger side seat belt. Every time, the light comes on the first time a passenger is in it; I take it back, they do something, the light goes out, but comes on again in a month or so. It is on again right now. I have asked them to query Honda about this, but I do not think the dealer is being honest about this, because it keeps being a problem. I recently replace the battery on my 2000 Honda Odyssey. When I restarted the van, my SRS light came on and stayed on. I told the dealer the battery story and asked if it just needed to be reset. They said no. The dealer says I need a new "unit". This is around $300. I have a hard time believing this as I have never seen this light before and all of the sudden, my SRS is on after replacing the battery. My step dad says that I should try to take the hot wire off the battery and leave it off for 15 minutes then put it back on. As soon as I get my van back, without a new "unit", I will try this! If your SRS light is on due to a faulty seat belt switch Honda foots the bill!! Go to another dealer. Answer 2 Fix SRS for Free I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey. Several months ago, the SRS light came on and stayed on. Recently I called Goudy Honda in Alhambra, CA to reset the light. They told me it would cost $ 95 for compute check. After they checked it, they told me they need to fix a side air bag chip and everything is free. I am very surprised.

How do you get the srs light off in your car?

The light is on because there is a problem with the SRS (Air bags). It is hazardous to work on this system so I suggest you have this repaired by a professional. They will reset the light after the repair.

How do i open the front passenger door of a Rover 25 when the internal and external handles will not open the door?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If your door is locked shut you have two options, 1, force the inner door card off remove the lock shield and window guide then smash the lock apart with a large hammer and cold chisel. or 2, if you want a little more finesse and have basic engineering skills, and this is how I did it. Remove the rear trim, rear seats have to come out first. This will give you access to the back of the door pillar. You will now be able to see the back of the 2 8mm screws that hold the door latch bar to the door pillar, they protrude the the threaded plate by about 10mm. These have to be removed. First cut them off as close to the plate that they screw into, but before you do get some vice grips on them and try to slacken them off by turning the thread clockwise. If you can do this it will help in removing what is left of them later. Now drill two holes about 10mm in diameter through the back of the door pillar so that they line up with the position of these two screws. Centre punch the remains of the sawn off screws as accurately as you can and using a long series drill, (the standard length drills are just not long enough0, carefully drill out the screws. It will help if you use a smaller size drill and work up to about a 6mm. The plate that these screws fit into is only about 3mm thick so you should not have much thread to knock out. Once the remaining thread has been drilled out the heads of the torx screws can be punched back out. The door can now be opened but may need a shove from the inside and the door catch bar may scratch the paint a bit, but at least now you have your door open. Next using an angle grinder or hacksaw cut the latch bar away from the door catch. Now you can remove the 3 screws holding the door latch to the door and remove it as normal. A trip to the breakers is next for a replacement door latch bar and a latch mechanism. £10 should see you right. Don't worry if you have made a mess of the two threaded holes in the plate where you drilled the screws out of, all is not lost as the screws from your donor car are long enough to put a couple of 8mm lock nuts on the back of.

Why are cars designed to leave lights on when ignition off?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Let's say you park your car outside at night and not in a garage. The AUTOMATIC lights will stay on long enough to light the area up and give you time to get inside. They will then go off. Lights in a car without auto lights are designed to be turned on without the ignition being on for safety reasons. If you are driving along at night and your ignition fails you lights will still be on. Also lights draw too much amperage to be routed through the ignition switch.
