WHAT IS Conceptual engineering in design activity?
The conceptual engineering aims to identify the machinery, equipment, supplies and facilities necessary to operate a project.
By definition:
A conceptual engineering study should logically consider the issues, concerns and goals that may be raised by an engineering request, evaluate possible technical solutions and clearly report the findings and recommendations. It is intended to provide a comparative basis for decision making regarding further actions, without expenditure of exhaustive engineering efforts. Further preliminary engineering (e.g., equipment layouts, geological studies, testing and inspections) may then be suggested for the recommended conceptual solution prior to full project funding commitment and detailed engineering design.
What are electromagnetic devices?
An electromagnetic device is any device that uses electromagnets to operate. Some examples include: electric motors, electric generators (alternators), speakers, etc. An electromagnet is typically a coil of wire with an electric current running through it which generates a magnetic field according to laws and principles developed by Ampere, Faraday, and Maxwell among others. Electromagnetism was discovered by Oersted in 1820.
In its simplest form, * A plane (jet) engine is affixed with a fan at the front of the engine with a shaft that runs right through to the turbine. This enables the fan to abstract cold air and propel it into the next stage of the engine. (cold air accommodates more oxygen making it efficient in the combustion process.)
* As the cold air is drawn into the engine, it is directed into the compressor where the air pressure will radically increase for the combustion process.
* This compressed air is then infiltrated with jet fuel via the wing fuel supply.
* The air fuel mixture is then ignited to commence the combustion process causing the air to dramatically expand in the chamber and in turn creating exhaust gas.
* This increment of energy escapes through the narrow end of the engine (turbine) at high a velocity to create the forward propelling motion.

What is the most effective way to conserve energy?
Water conservation is easy -- the best way is re-use. For example, if you flush the water line first thing in the morning, you can save the water to water the plants. What are the pros and cons of steel construction?
Weight may be one possibility(steel usually takes less volume for beams and column which could always lighter than concrete), another may be corrosion. Certain areas where a chemical or something else might react to the steel.
Type of steel used is very pertinent. Some versions of steel like "passive" stainless steel are much more resistant to corrosive effects of air, moisture, acids, salts and electrolytes while retaining the strength steel is known for. If not using stainless steel, the steel needs to be protected from the elements, coatings used, inspections and regular maintenance performed. From an ecological green perspective, the total environmental cost of steel can be high, especially with the mild steels or plain galvanized steel. The environmental cost includes the cost of raw processing, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, re-cycling and replacement costs. Durability and longevity factor in greatly as does the initial mining and processing cost. Stainless can have very long life and is very durable and resistant to stress, in the right environment. Steel has high initial processing costs and can also be high maintenance for types other than stainless. Note: There are many kinds of stainless steel, most do not look like the polished variety commonly seen in flatware. Stainless steel, zinc and copper are probably the best green building materials in metals.
